1) Ramadan is a month in islamic calender. Muslims fast all the 30 days of the month from sunrise to sunset (nothing should go down the throat not even your own saliva)

2) Normally better to wish for the end of the ramadan (Eid) that's a big holiday and festival for muslims.

FYI I know its not easy to keep track of other cultures holidays. So just a remind in 2 days Ramadan is coming up. So if you have any Islamic friends dont forget to wish them a wonderful Ramadan (this is a rather important holiday for them) on Tuesday.

If I recall correctly Ramadan is one of the holidays they fast on, so it might be especially appreciated if offer them a nice home baked snack or meal in the day leading up to it as a nice gesture (I dont think this is a typical "gift" for the holiday I dont really know, but just seems like a thoughtful way to go).

If any Muslim friends would like to help steer me to good ideas on this one feel free to leave your thoughts int he comments.

This would actually make a great story idea... basically the self-fulfilling prophecy time travel trope combined with the no matter what you do you cant change history time travel trope.

Hitler in the story would start out as a "good guy", kind, compassionate, loves people of all races, just wants to pain. But time and time again time travelers keep going back trying to kill him, always targeting him before he has body guards or power. Hitler doesn't know their time travelers of course. But every murder attempt inevitably fails (because it cant change history) and slowly changes Hitler into an evil person who hates humanity as an emotional response to each attempt on his life. So that the very act of time travelers trying to kill him is eventually what creates the monster Hitler turned out to be after all.

I fear though it might piss off way too many people, especially if it paints Hitler as a good guy in his youth as any representation of him as anything other than evil might be seen as being a pro-Hitler thing (even though I wouldn't see it that way since the novel would still portray him as evil int he end).

I'm kinda surprised my biggest payoff this month has been XRP in terms of percentages... I only have 5% of my crypto invested in it yet its increased by 50% and thus out of all miy gains got me more gains (in dollars) than ethereum . By comparison i have 28% of my crypto in ethereum (not counting tokens) and it raised by only 1.7% in that same time

Yea, I troll, I almost always take ad hominim bait and mirror, then draw back to topic. Seems it allows me to separate the trolls from those that can provide substance to a discussion, albeit a bit like walking into a bar and shouting "none a ya bastards know shit, prove me wrong." Because, I also like to seperate out the ones that can handle a comic perspective and laugh from the ones that get all batshit Karen... for my own demented enjoyment, because IMHO, the world lost perspective at the same time it lost it's understanding of Walt Kowalski and Archie Bunker, and the social significance of retaining all viewpoints. Just correlation, but enough to make me often mix the two around for fun on Fedi.

that's cool, I don't know why, but it remined me of this (non-sequiter, just cool) thing:

"The result is a motorcycle that looks more like an organic exoskeleton than a machine. That was a very deliberate design goal for APWorks, which programmed the algorithm to use bionic structures and natural growth processes and patterns as the basis for developing a strong but lightweight structure"

https://www.greencarcongress.com/2016/05/20160522-airbus.html

Due to bandwidth limitations, I offer only an example of "organic" skeletons grown using AI to fill in minimal material for maximum structural strength... AI, being "organic" in fabrication with artificial materials is fucking cool. (even with more basics too, like out of aluminum).

It wasn't long ago, it seems, but in the 1990s I watched a guy do a talk on OLED tech and we all just went "cool, some day we can hang our TV on the wall like a picture" and went home to tell my friends who didn't believe me.

When you think of the shit we will have in 20 years, if you are smart, you instantly know, it's going to be totally different, and better in a way you haven't even thought of yet.

So apparently Prince Phillip died.. whats this the second time for him, or third?

Yes, anyone willing to help someone else not look so stupid, when that actually takes effort, deserves to be thanked.

**Interesting fact of the day**: While Native Americans never developed the metallurgical knowledge to create steel and iron themselves they did in fact have steel and iron tools long before contact with Europeans.

What happened was drift iron, from asian ship wrecks, due to the current, would often wash ashore along the American north wast. This would take the form of nails or other iron pieces embedded in wood (thus being capable of floating. Native Americans had no idea where this iron was coming from or how it was made, but they did recognize its superior quality as a metal compared to the sorts of metals they typically had access to. As such the Native Americans in the north west would typically harvest this iron and forge it into tools.

To me this is just so extraordinary because they had no contact with outside peoples at this point and had no idea anyone existing out there across the ocean. Yet they kept finding this odd metal they had never seen and must have known it wasnt natural as it was shaped into a nail or a winch or something. So I can only imagine the fantasies they came up with about where it was really coming from, especially considering that it was far stronger and could be made far sharper than any metal they had ever seen. It must have seen magickal to them.

Ya know, the credit score system in america, while a good idea in principle, is really setup in such a stupid way.

One thing that really bugs me is one of the factors that effects your credit score is the age of your oldest account and the average age of your accounts. In other words if you cancel your oldest credit card, assuming thats your oldest account, your credit score will go down.

So for me my oldest account is 20 years old and its a really shitty secured credit card I got when I was building my credit. I had to pay 300$ to secure it (which i get back if I cancel) and it has only a 300$ limit, so it is useless to me. Moreover I have to pay 7$ every month to keep it. Worse yet the interest rate if i Put anything on it is insane. In every way its a bad investment and I should cancel it. But if I do that my credit will take a hit. So here I am forced to make a bad financial decision just to keep my credit score maxed out.... so fucking stupid.

Man the crypto markets have been killing it for 3 months straight, nothing but up up up.. I made 3% on my investment overnight.

I feel like with the recent addition of crypto pay to paypal, plus Starbucks taking cryptocurrency and a few other major retailers this trends isnt going to change, if anything it is going to accelerate.

I really feel like we are on the verge of crypto breaking out to mainstream and seeing it as a payment method everywhere in the next year... Now is absolutely the time to start investing in crypto.

dont say I never gave ya nothing.
