Which type of dementia do you think has?

Which personality disorders do you think has?

@freemo Whenever I finally make it back to NL, this is where I typically hold court 😀

Which type of dementia do you think has?

Which personality disorders do you think has?

Interesting fact of the day: despite being a flightless bird an ostrich can actually jump higher than your average two story home.

Extraordinary foresight on their part. I guess that's why they say they're wise.

Here is a algorithms/riddle i just solved that was kind of fun. So heres the setup. You have a circular table that spins with four evenly spaces opaque boxes on it around the outside. In each box is a coin that is either heads or tails. You get a maximum of 5 rounds, between each round you are blindfolded and the table ia spun randomly. During each round you can pick a box to open, look, the pick a second box to open and look. You can then flip none, any, or all, of the coins with open boxes. Then the boxes are closed before the next round. If at any point all four coins are the same then you win the game.

You must come up with a strategy that **guarantees** in 5 rounds or less that all 4 coins will be the same.

Tommorow i will take a picture of the flow chart i came up with the answer. In the meantime please give hints, answer, or thoughts in the comments but be sure to CW them. I will reply tomorrow with a picture of the answer and CW that as well. Good luck!

PS for a slightly harder version all the same rules apply except you need to pick both boxes to open simultaneously rather than one after thr other. With this harder version it is still possible in 5 rounds or less.

@freemo @Science I recently read a book on transatlantic telegraph history. The actual history was more complicated than the popular story, but far more interesting.

1. The cable didn't fail immediately like a bad comedy after Whitehouse turned the voltage up the dial to eleven. Instead, it failed at some point in the middle of multiple experiments, in which both Lord Kelvin and Whitehouse's devices were used.

2. While it's true that Whitehouse's HV transmitter certainly accelerated the cable failure, but even without him, the cable would likely fail soon as well. Submarine cables at that time suffered multiple engineering and quality control problems, especially, the quality of the dielectric insulation. Other cables from the same era, like the Red Sea Cable, also failed quickly. In fact, Whitehouse likely just triggered an insulation defect, a defect-free cable should've survived that voltage. In this sense, Whitehouse was a scapegoat in the telegraphy industry.

As for if we agree that oppressor and oppressed needs to end. More or less yes. Which is exactly why in against communism, it forces those who accomplish the most to be oppressed by those who accomplish the least. What i am for is capitalism, where a persons contribution dictates their wealth, but with a system of free education and training to ensure everyone had equal opportunity yo be a contributor and reap the rewards that go with it.

Remeber kiddies, when breathing oxygen at pressure you need to track your pulmonary oxygen toxicity seperate from you CNS oxygen toxicity. Especially if your diving on a rebreather where you tend to maintain a constant 1.3 PO2, it does add up.

The term "gas giant" for jupiter and similar planets always seemed a bit odd to me. Afterall they are mostly just gigantic balls of liquid for the most part and only a small outer atmosphere is gas. I mean sure the atmosphere is thicker than much smaller planets but its still made up of mostly liquid.
