I can add a third reason: **Markdown support!!**

@trinsec @freemo @cy@mstdn.io two of the reasons why qoto is one of my favorite instances is the science focus and the 65,000+ character limit.

@freemo , I’m glad that we’re getting new people. I’m looking forward to making new friends. :ablobbounce:

This inrush of new users is pretty sweet. We are getting around 150 new users a day right now and have been for like a week.

is now back up and migrated to bigger servers. There shouldnt be any more issues moving forward.

@cy@mstdn.io You said it. Qoto isn't rightwing. And you're totally free to argue with @freemo himself. I've done my fair share of arguing with him as well. We've butted heads and we've agreed on things. So long as it's civil, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, right?

@cy@mstdn.io @freemo That said, if you _do_ see anything horrible coming out of qoto, please feel free to report it. Last I checked hate speech still isn't tolerated here.

Server will have some downtime today as part of our migration to new bigger servers. The occasional 500 errors people have been seeing should go away after upgrade.

There will be a downtime of 2 hours, likely later today, as we upgrade to a larger server.

Has anyone experienced QOTO being down recently or is it just @trinsec experiencing it?

OK, we've got a tricky UX problem in datetime.isoformat and I could use typical users' intuitive thoughts here. If you are a programmer, can you take this short survey? Please don't do any research before filling it out!

Boosts appreciated!

@freemo @unabomber lets try this thread over again but now with deus ex references

:ablobfoxree: OH MY GOD, JC A BOMB

@freemo "Umm, ackshually" only local hidden variables have been disproven by experimental verification of Bell's theorem; non-local hidden variables may still exist :ablobtonguewink:

@freemo Since many chips are leveraging quantum effects now...you're saying quantum mechanics is the assembly language of assembly language. And if the hidden variables hypothesis is true, there's assembly for QM! By induction we claim it's turtles all the way down; this is left as an exercise for the reader.
