@freemo Icon theater chain in the US has closed captions. If you want to see the captions you use a device that feeds them to your phone (via BT?). Other members of the audience cannot see your screen. Probably other chains do as well.
I totally forgot about this music video where Weezer got all the early internet celebrities together to be in their video.... my god the memories, back when the internet was an enjoyable place to be.
I'm such a nerd.. A dutch friend of mine remarked "One reason the Dutch are so good at english is when you go to the movies we dont have voice overs, we use closed captioning instead"...
I replied "no you don't", and he protested before i pointed out it is literally impossible for a movie theater to show closed captioning because by definition closed captioning implies the viewer has the control to turn it off and on, which you cant do at a theater. He was referring to open captioning :)

Mr. Bojangles is one of my favorite songs. Not only does it have a very rich an interesting African American history, but the lyrics are particularly special to me.
There is a part in the song where he says Bojangles always talks about his dog who he went everywhere with for 15 years and after 20 years since the dog's passing he still grieves. My dog passed several years ago and I always talk about her everywhere I go and keep her picture with me. There will never be a day I dont tell people about my little angel blue :)

@freemo @colinsmatt11 @JensHannemann Fediverse Enhancement Proposals is our alternative to W3C standardization process.
The difference is that with FEPs we don't have to agree on a single spec. Some proposals get adopted by developers, others don't. There's no central authority that decides what people should do.

So spent the weekend trying to decide between NixOS and Guix and finally decided to go with NixOS.. Installed it on my company laptop and my main desktop and one of my employees computers... so far I'm loving it and exited to learn this new distro.
The more I read up on the two I think I picked the right choice too.

Why it would require greater applied mechanical force to rotate an electric dynamo when electric power is being supplied to an external resistance load than rotating the dynamo without the load - the change of kinetic energy per unit time is diminished in the presence of electric power supplied to the external load so that the internal generating conductors inside the dynamo cannot move faster than without the load. to barely rotate the dynamo without rotational acceleration what is needed at least is applied mechanical power equals the electric power needed in the load.
