Interesting fact of the day:

Islamic medicine was well ahead of its time when it came to the treatment of the mentally ill. the Quran demanded the those with mental illness be taken care of and treated kindly, this was reflected in how doctors of the time cared for the mentally ill and very much a departure from the attitudes of other cultures at the time where the mentally ill were demonized or quite literally treated as possessed.

Here is the specific quote from the quran translated to english:

"Do not give your property which God assigned you to manage to the insane: but feed and clothe the insane with this property and tell splendid words to them." -- Sura 4:5

2) Pour out the 3 liter bucket leaving you with 2L in the 5L and an empty 5L

3) Pour the 2L from the 5L bucket to the 3L bucket leaving you with an empty 5L bucket and 2L in the 3L bucket

4) Fill the 5L bucket and pour it out into the 3L bucket until it is full. This leaves 4L in the 5L bucket, problem solved.

The executive producer of Dr. Who states that the doctor didn't know his real age (implying when he does state an age its a guess or a lie).

"The thing I keep banging on about is that he doesn't know what age he is. He's lying. How could he know, unless he's marking it on a wall? He could be 8,000 years old, he could be a million. He has no clue. The calendar will give him no clues."

In retrospect this makes a lot of sense. When your ona different planet at a different point in time every other day you have no real reference point to judge your own age by. Eventually you simply have no idea if you 100, 1000 or a million.. Days and years on planets are all different and you never stay for long enough to count it...
