Add those people to a list (Subscribe via RSS)... I think this is the way or simplest how to say it

Audio on Mastodon not quite right according to tests:

Usually any audio uploaded played ok...
...until recently people said they can't see the mp3at all and just a cover picture - and so I figured out that if you remove the audio cover picture in ID3 of mp3 then it shows the audio...
but previously it would play regardless of what picture cover info the audio had, now I have to re-save audio without cover picture for it to play :/

Any ideas why this is happening and why now?

Showing level of interaction in Bio
or
Add to bio an interaction level.

A way showing on Bio people's *intended interaction* with anything simple like:
- checkbox tick
- Out of 10 rating (10 being friendly)
- a colour bar etc...

anything simple!

Of course people can write this in their bio but they don't and this would encourage thought about it during bio setup. It's also a by-design encouragement or saving time thing (even if not obvious at first).

I'm also half and half about adding a design but something to solve it (even if it's the same but helps people write "one way only")

or

"Just so you know I write a lot but don't intend to reply"

(and this isn't a snarky comment ! to anyone - Just more clarity here as people have to write back their fans or ignore them anyway so a signal in Bio saves them us typing when there is 0 chance of reply

"This account is 1-way only" etc which is fine but just tell us first / save us time !

█1/ Faster replies to people makes things better online, both as an individual experience and in terms of development for makers / developers. For bigger groups to have dedicating people for faster contact I recommend...

The list of 1-way communication / broadcast-only / 0 response accounts is actually quite high or higher than they say (e.g. "this is a broadcast only account") even for good things on #Fediverse that seemingly want support (or just money?)

█2/ I might make a list of 0 responders as I go and of those lacking individuals clarity - it's not ideal to point but I think reasonably it's a culture ultimately or cultural ultimatum we're all facing to change / interact on Fediverse, and frankly not good enough if the goals are highly same not to have a way on Fefiverse to use reply button! 📨

so without forcing people indirectly or bullying but pointing a bit I think is fair, else they can let me know / put in their bio "why we don't answer back" as fair expectation.

What's worse than a clever person who doesn't reply or ignores you without reasoning on the Fediverse?

Answer: A clever person who only uses their account for 1-way broadcast and replies indirectly about you in their next post!

TLDR / Lesson:
They/you could have just written back to the original person rather than complain indirectly for the mutual totally fan-like attention.

I can get it but feel like a better balance of involving people is part of it all (especially if people are into education and promoting interaction or whatever in similar ways to what you do clearly)

It's not been a lot that I see or come across but I want to see those that promote education and interaction,.. er.. actually do it? Not do the exactly the opposite or even complain indirectly about it lol

Is a fine line sometimes but broadcast-only can be a bit harsh and even anti-education almost getting people excited / mutually agreeing / wanting to do more than receive messages.

So this is also about clever people who don't reply or interact with others (seemingly and without any reasoning sent at least) and then they might take the time to complain about it because they could have just wrote the person instead with that time and effort.

Moral of the story?
If you're the #fediverse please try not it ignore people without having more clear and honest reasoning. It makes a big difference

- write in why in your bio (say you have 0 reply or selective reply and it's no offence if that's really your way).

I'm sure some of it can be purely on aesthetics because an avatar is a bit too colourful etc.

The common denominator between us, is talking.

Massive space take up by PNG images... [unintended]

Have you noticed the PNG image files on Mastodon when you go to save an image? (images are not JPG)

[Assumption #1]: The image is converted to PNG sometimes to strip EXIF...

PNG = 1,1mb +/-
JPG = 150Kb +/-

If I'm right then it's good to strip EXIF but regularly 1MB PNG files are created for originally ~50-100Kb JPG upload!

Overall it is killing space massively also.

█ A SOLUTION:
Convert the PNG back to JPG (done server side) to get about 1mb space back per image!

"Toots" forces people to read 'pinned posts'
I prefer people to see my most recent posts ("Toots and Replies")
because I reply mostly to people and like to show that as first column when people are on my profile. (gets more interest and bio stays visible when either column is clicked)
