MASTODON TODAY DOES NOT EXPORT TO ANY HUMAN READABLE FORMAT - SO NEEDS MANUAL CONVERSION WORK..

mainly the outbox.json and the media ... which you get with export BUT nothing to view together!

And BigTech even acknowledging Mastodon or ActivityPub is a sure sign they will have plans to do the same shit here... And then "people" (maybe you) might just expect to move to 'the next thing' BUT ONLY when it gets unbearable and beyond repair and clear what is happening (which is why I have contacted people to say "Not another ad-farm platform using your instance / not another take over funded by all these links by us?" or "your movement is only as strong as you users?". These I feel have no doubt to their practice truth? (say no if you don't believe it's true)

So probably you know some of this - but isn't it true YOU HAVE TO FIGHT / DEFEND YOUR GROUND MUCH EARLIER OR RIGHT NOW? If you're doing that in some other way please say - please educate us.

Even for the people who agree and are just like you talking only, not putting NO CONSENT for things might be limited or useless, but at least easy to do and visually evident as your responsibility / saying no does have legal weight... ok it might not come down to that but cover yourself / give it a chance... NOT DOING has no weight. and not doing it is reckless - almost letting them in with that logic of "they are too big to fail, let's not stand in their way a bit"... why lock the door if they get in through the window. You got to make is harder or clearer andcheck yourself with minimal responsibility otherwise what are you doing?...

Some people (maybe you) almost sound like a Facebook person to say "why bother clicking off these options or checking all these things and even why come off Facebook because Meta or Google they still data scrape elsewhere etc. So you're here and that gives indication you know somewhat, but you can't just stop there.

At least to back up what you talk about - do your side .

Mastodon without us is going down (maybe with us too if link habits don't change), and yes it doesn't help that admins or developers don't seem to mind the data-scraping as they could even add it in the footer of the Mastodon template.
One of the instances or groups could sue one day with all the collective evidence accumulated later...

We need to prep for that Law scenario or whatever is the right way that helps, even if we don't know how things are going to be used for our benefit now.

If you don't say NO you can very much seem like you're ok with it instead and people assume it isn't a problem... "

The least is putting something there - symbolic or not, used of not.

It's not even measured by that but how you conduct your info and put a sign or something preventative (because anyway you and I never know or can see what they do) but yes assume they don't care, but don't just give it up for free either - you put there evidence you put effort to say "I don't like this shit or agree to it"...

People are destined to clash - the art is to do it better...

Also people similar or just everyone is destined to clash or be too picky, so the aim as I see it is to do this better almost as if it was therapy / anger management.

And yes hate / debt is what is pushed around and the material used commonly from top to bottom therefore a kind of normal in this system currently.
But my aim is to reverse that polarity somewhat knowing some will want to stay where they are and not love each other or do it for what they do to that extent and come out of hate and ignorance and being tired / overwhelmed with kids / etc....

I could be totally wrong, so take comfort in that also :)

Oh and if it helps I get blocked by like-minded people for trying, so even in good cases it's fairly common because: more activity = more feelings / more and "I don't have for this human communication stuff (even for their own shit 🤣 x100 ) so even if not 'fair' or warranted THIS is what happens I think and is my violin song to to do better and feedback what we need before Fediverse gets literally taken over / overwhelmed.

@realcaseyrollins @graf @sim It was the nuances of what something might mean that seemed deadly misleading (but I don't mean in jokes or something I missed before though that's included somewhat).

Just as observer hard to tell if someone says something and what it means if they almost use a different vocabulary or more usually emotionally charged one but it not really being used as strongly.

So usually short in length, seemingly emotional can not mean as much and for example my 'fuck you' to someone could be totally light-hearted and even like "I like you" lol but for others coming across it it seems clear they more use these words in for example also saying someone is retarded - like how much they mean that :blobrofl:
So to avoid this I would be tempted not to reply (in fact probably am doing so) as I'd always be 2nd guessing and need to clarify what this or that word means as sort of marker or vocab for them or graf in this case.
Totally light hearted but would even want graf to think I'm making stuff up also - just was oblivious to way language was being used :)

And I could even be wrong still....!

@npdoty the ability to opt-out, even if it did somehow retroactively remove data from a model, doesn't justify ignoring ethics or copyright law. What about people who never get told about the opt-out? What about non-technical people who can't add to robots.txt? Why should someone have to opt-out?

If you don't design and maintain clearer politics with your users then the politics can be lost in your design.

Maintain the politics (why it exist and for who it is for or against) and the politics can be sorted WHILE people are using the software - If it's "yet another software" then it has less meaning.

The winner is what people use and believe to get better themselves so eventually the politics (perspectives of people within global consideration) gets better with your design and with you making it!

Maintain a clearer purpose I think is FTW

Like an old webcam picture and has some mood to it... All is good - the left bottom side and all around the centre rectangle is great in my opinion!

If you like more what I think...

- the middle is a bit unclear (perhaps deliberately) where the rest outside the centre frame has more detail and more geometric feel, the centre I feel is lost - almost as a different picture in another picture, and has water stain type marking as a mismatch overall and less geometric / less photographic / and even rushed look.

For example, it's not clear what is supposed to be in that middle, so a bit of a ?

I know the light was probably that intense but detail inside could be probably be a bit better... (dare I say!)

But is nice and always is from you so I accept it as is. As observer no sure about the middle.
