🌐 Internet replaces almost totally the need for Local things. ? ❓

The main point in saying this is to acknowledge it doesn't improve or interact with my local area which is what I want... Then again people might not want to be part of their area so much and only via Internet. But if you want for justice or fairness, then you have to be part of it... else die basically!
(I think I have that right)

The above is maybe asking a lot as 'Local' and possibly it's always needed for me think of improvement and interactaction locally but feels like Internet IS the displacement somewhat we have grow up with (like getting computers for first time and friends much more indoors) and delay to the local activity (not even improvement always) starts to disappear like a Back to The Future photo of your friends disappearing!...

Naturally things are different for each area but feels like people fall behind locally if they are mostly online. Also falling behind with reality, even though reality might be a manufactured / man-made thing which is now 'internet' far away progress and not so much local progress...
So maybe I can't complain about that either if it's always been a manufactured / man-made thing BUT I CAN SAY better that maybe it was mor natural and less manufactured before so that was better as a natural habitat than 'inside' all the time.

If what I'm doing is all this more-American-based stuff (servers, material, even the good education and knowledge) then I'm not improving directly where I am (which might be "crap" or "not needing change" or many things I'd like you to speak on!)

Thanks for your replies on points!

@Kihbernetics Hi. Any link to the full thing?

The universe is a place of restless and endless motion.

Emotions are defined as “that which moves us” or affects...

"Earth Emotions is thorough, composed, and historically illuminative.
Grounded and powerful in its message, this book helps explain in an accessible way the history of Earth emotion neologisms and the relationships of land and psyche."

- Nick Stanger, Washington University:

"Glenn Albrecht's vision is at once realistic and contagiously optimistic. Through unique language, he names the heart-breaking loss we feel as nature gets pummeled. Yet our senses open and our smiles re-emerge as we recognize that such destruction can be the catalyst for the evolution of human consciousness. This book is a manifesto for a new Earth."

"A remarkable work of interdisciplinary philosophy that unites eco-linguistics and story-telling, this open-hearted, sharp-minded book not only diagnoses what Kristeva once called our 'new maladies of the soul', but shows us a way to escape them; by moving out of the Anthropocene and into the Symbiocene."

Peter Kahn, University of Washington, author of Technological Nature:

"Glenn Albrecht is one of the most important eco-philosophers of our time, though the term 'eco-philosopher' may be too narrow. He is also a map-maker: he names the roads ahead, the dead-ends, the detours, and potential destinations. And, unlike so many scientists, he does not describe those roads only with numbers, but with a new language of emotions — those now emerging from the tragedy and the possibility of the Earth.

In Earth Emotions, Albrecht seeks to provide a new lexicon of emotional terms. The purpose of these terms is twofold: first, to allow people make better sense of themselves and of their relationship with the planet; second, to encourage development of a more meaningful and optimistic outlook toward the planet.

Albrecht offers a framework within which to understand and acknowledge the dissociation of humans from the living world. With a new language and means of expression, a wider array of stories from diverse voices can hopefully be heard."

Richard Louv, author of The Nature Principle:

Doing "Urgent-only" / "High Priority" stuff in life doesn't work... (it's all a priority / part of the same whole eco-system)

If people tend to do things because they have to or because "now it's high priority" then it makes sense for them to be forced to do things because of this imperative that it has to break or become urgent first in to do get some love or maintenance.

Unfortunately almost the opposite is needed "keeping an eye and everything" and can't wait until things break to try fix them (too late) or when the soil it full of toxics or plastics it's also too late to try grow something...

The Way of "Do the Urgent-only / "High Priority stuff first" doesn't work... everything needs topping up and doing / starting...

(TLDR = it's all a priority and part of the same whole eco-system)

for backing up posts?

RSS could be a way to backup my posts - what do you think?

My existing RSS feed backed up err.. somewhere / in an app / browser ?

Something that fetches from back in time...

Any thoughts from RSS method?

Did you ever think just 1 new person online was enough to change the world with you?

I don't mean me only, but just "continued conversation" with 1 person and how that could nearly get "there" or "anywhere" if is already quite ) ?

The travel of the delegation of Zapatistas to Europe is currently being delayed by the French government. A week of action has been called out, and protests have started since yesterday.

See toot below for some dates.

Because fuel tax basically never covers the externalities (pollution from burning it, plus the cost of the road infrastructure), car travel is heavily subsidized by everyone who isn't driving a car, and this fact is very rarely talked about in the mainstream.

#howto use the #fediverse with nearly no internet connection with #AndStatus:
Choose in the settings:
- to not fetch images
- to not fetch avatars
- increase the time of sync
Now next time you got internet connection, even if shitty as ~1kbs you can let AndStatus sync.
Also no problem if internet connection is just accessible for some minutes.
Messages get stored offline. You can read, fav., boost, and reply to them any given time. Once you've got internet again even you're replies will be sync.

@sergeant Probably is true for the 'used to it' factor, but overall not always justifying it.

If trying nearer to perfection or just "better" in your diet you would surely have less than 50 cups per week :) Ok exaggerated... But a possible improvement simply with less rather than more - "what could be easier!!"

I guess it's a mental aid too as it changes the brain, give high/low etc... ?

@sergeant How many per week?
Do you feel it effect your training in a big way?

[Chorus]
I've been sellin' my soul
Workin' all day
Overtime hours
For bullshit pay
So I can sit out here
And waste my life away
Drag back home
And drown my troubles away
It's a damn shame
What the world's gotten to
For people like me
And people like you
Wish I could just wake up
And it not be true
But it is
Oh it is

[Verse 1]
So many years of ignoring the truth
So many tears, I let go on this booth
I'm drinking this beer and I'm doing these drugs
Just to numb all this pain
I don't know what to do
It's not just me
Only you and I know that I've been so in debt that I'm suicidal
I'm so used to being used
That I don't use my head and instead I just use the bottle
Put in so many hours we'll never get back
Just to collect this check that they turn into tax
Maybe next time our kids show up to class
You teach them the truth and they learn about that
We carry this country, it's hurtin' our backs
The goverment fucks us, we're working for scraps
No matter what, we're determined to crash
Let's purge for a purpose and earn it all back
They'll make you a promise, then let you down
Plus, these countries are run by some pedophiles
And me I refuse to just sit around
While they're teaching our children this shit out loud
They told us to shut up and wear a mask
Just take this vaccine it'll take care of that
On this highway to hell, I've been there and back
I can't fit all this shit in a paragraph
Fuck 'em!

[Verse 2]
They supply us the drugs that are killing our kids
Then we do nothing 'bout it, it is what it is
I'm not sorry, I'm seriously sick of this shit
I just packed up and moved, now I live in the sticks
Thanks to big pharma we get withdrawal
Then the whole world is hooked on this fentanyl
Be careful or you might be dead tomorrow
Yeah, we're working away at their back and call
If they saw this they'd tell you that this is a stretch
But why are we letting 'em get in our heads
How is there veterans livin' in tents
Cause the cycle has proven to bring us to death
Like, what is the reason we waited this long to admit this is all population control
Take one look around, this shit's taking its toll
But I'm saying fuck it, I'm breaking the mold
I promise I'm not being passive-aggressive
I'm actually fed up, I'm passing a message
I'm tryin' to say that they have an agenda, and we just ignore all the facts that they give us
Indigenous women go missing, and what?
We supposed to ignore it and sit on our thumbs?
It's not 'bout the left or the right or the middle
I'm going to war, I will not keep it civil
Fuck that!
