@freemo Translation is a big one. I am usually on the "against" side of editing, not that my opinion means anything. @trinsec @JoshuaACasey

@freemo Was there anything you saw in 4.0 that you thought "I need that" @JoshuaACasey

@JoshuaACasey I was wondering that myself. Assumed he wouldn't cuz of his fork, nor need to, but could add the features if necessary. I need too see a complete list of new stuff in 4.0. U have a link? @freemo

Is that instance-level filters in the local timeline ?
I've seen the same with mastodon tagged posts.

@koshka Absolutely. I am 7 years (I think) Google free.

@SweaterVest We need to write a script for a more believable, Pierre Boulle like series - Planet of the Donkeys. Much more likely outcome. We can explore whether they would exterminate us, or enslave us in retaliation for eons of puttin' shit on their back.

@groundie That sounds familiar. I'm finishing "Ball Lightning" by Liu Cixin, one of my favorite authors.

@groundie I read for a couple hours a night. I need it.

Qoto != Goto
Yet, when first I glanced at Qoto, I saw Goto, that infamous statement responsible for mountains of spaghetti code. I then saw what it really stood for and immediately signed up.

Qoto, to me, means to learn or teach ourselves. How else really? Watching or hearing do not quite measure up to reading, especially physical books that you hold. In bed, paperbacks are preferred; hardcovers can be dangerous if you’re drowsy.😩

The best way I found to see if I’ve learned something from reading is to write down a synopsis. Not so easy. How about writing something original? I have great admiration for all writers of: , stories, , cook books, text books, technical specifications, how-to books, etc. etc. I’d go out on a limb and say, the art of writing is significantly more difficult than either creating a painting or composing a piece of music. Please note that I said art, not science.

In this internet age, much of our reading is in snippets. TL;DR
So, here’s a poll for the longest time you’ve spent reading in one sitting recently. (excepting this toot)

@koshka How about they track to the executives who signed off on it and put criminal charges against them. Financially it's worth it to them to keep making these "mistakes".

@SweaterVest That would be terrifying. They are already geniuses hiding amongst us, waiting for the right time to take over. If they had the power of song, they would lure us into a state of complacency like sirens and take over.

@SweaterVest On that tangent, the book "Running with Sherman" is one of my favorites, and about a donkey.

@SweaterVest Horses are stupid. Donkeys are smart.....too smart.

@marathon0 True, and agreed. I don't think there is a better option though. Unfortunately can't control others, and out of the ones that are blocking qoto, I've only heard of 2 of them @geantonicelli

@peterdrake Very interesting. Legit then. Maybe since their recently announced financial troubles, they need more data points of yours to mine and make some extra 💰 haha

@marathon0 and qoto has a much further reach than maybe you think. We talked about it last night here: qoto.org/@lucifargundam/109345 @geantonicelli

@peterdrake Did you check the senders domain for credibility. My wife got a text similar to that 2 days ago, and immediately looked phishy. (especially since she doesnt have her number added to D+ lol)
