A poll \ thread, about lying

@empiricism The amount times that they are not caught would be a scarier indication.

I knew the "Hamburger", but didn't know the Meatballs... I think I'll start calling it by that name now. actually, there's more food names:

@TheOldGuy I quickly looked into it and they are a "think tank" based in washington D.C., founded by businessman in order to "monitor the tax spending policies of government agencies". To me, government overwatch lends some credence, but "founded by businessman" also makes me skeptical. Will continue looking into them, but as of now, I am skeptical of their bias.

Exploring deep call graphs and figuring out how to visualise them is where an e-ink tablet really comes in handy

@TheOldGuy I guess that's why we differ. I believe that is a good question - "who funds" - and would be a good idea to explore it. But I fundamentally disagree with your implication that if it's not funded by the government, it's not true. The government's track record on "truth" throughout it's history is anything but stellar.

But again, who funds them is a good question, that I will look into. Either way, it doesn't really matter, because he wouldn't be paying the "91%" anyway, since most of his wealth isn't tangible, and simply based on speculation.

I truthfully have no problem with what he pays in taxes. He paid 12 billion last year, more than any american in history, and likely more than my entire city has paid collectively in it's existence. That's just my opinion, not that it means anything.

@TheOldGuy for some reason that link u sent isn't working for me. Will have to try on my PC. But see this taxfoundation.org/taxes-on-the

@TheOldGuy People like Musk would have been taxed at like 55%, in the 1950s, not 93% as far as I'm aware. Not that much higher than the current top bracket.

@jerlich They likely wouldn't because of the discovery phase. They have been doing their best from making that data available to the public, and it no doubt would be. Secondly, they would need to show that they were hurt financially, and their profits since COVID are record breaking as a company. So it would be tough to prove that they were hurt from her speech. Also, they don't have the best track records with lawsuits, having lost some of the largest in world history.

@N2UX That or just get a 6-pin molex to anderson. I've seen them in 6 and 10ft lengths.

@lucifargundam That is the most satisfying side by side pics I've seen in a long time. If you didn't mean for it to line up so well, pretend you did ha

Had to break out the Raketa Space Launcher. Its been a while. The bezel is made out of metal from the Soyuz 2.1a rocket. Fun watch, and one of my favorite casebacks out there.

I must abide by the poll. Happy Holidays everyone!

Which is subjectively the best greeting for the Holiday Season?

@freemo A kid told my daughter that at school, and she said back to him "oh yeah, you think the parents could make all those toys? No way."

You would think with it being -5 F out, and your house has no insulation, it would be hard to find positives. My home server sits next to an exterior wall. Loving these temps 🤣
