The wording I used decades ago for the rec.crafts.glass newsgroup went like this:
All discussions will be held in English. Posting in
other languages is allowed provided an English translation
is included.

I support neither. They're just convenient/artificial lines of divisiveness to keep the people arguing and fighting. Almost everything in life is a continuum. Almost nothing is black or white, but infinite shades of gray.

Beforelife, afterlife. It's all the same. Time is an illusion. So say the sages. So say the physicists.
Within the confines of the illusion, some might say we decided all the parameters of our incarnation before we were born. We chose our parents. We chose our DNA, etc.
Perhaps once you see enough beautiful inexplicable awe inspiring things, you'll realize that there is far more going on than you can imagine.
Then again... maybe not.

I have, on occasion, used the "Delete & redraft" as an edit function.

Key intent of the response was the emoticon -> ;-)

I can do that already with meditation.

Avoiding corporate-produced news is always good. They have agendas that are not in our best interests. News in general should probably be taken in moderation. Dr. Weil suggests periodic "news fasts."

That's what I read back before the internet. Now that we have wikipedia, I see other punishments that, to me, seem to far outweigh the crime. If the Code of Hamurabi brought sanity to contract law, I'd hate to have seen what it looked like before.
@design_RG @Pankaj_077
Before Hamurabi, they were doing armandaleg or even a life for an eye.
Eye for an eye in context meant, "No more than an eye for an eye."

My only smart phone isn't phone capable. Basically it's a cast-off I use for calculator and stopwatch. I don't even have its wifi turned on.
My flip phone stays on my desk 99.99% of the time. When I leave home, I leave my phone at home (except for that rare case when I know I will actually need it for something... once every year or two). Very easy to remove the battery if I were ever inclined.
No "smart" tv. No IOT devices. No "assistants."
@iamo Huh! I've never seen any. Guess I just don't search them out.

When we're younger everything is shiny and new, and we have to try stuff out. Other kids our age are also trying stuff out, so we strike up relationships with them.
As we get older, (as in older than 30's) we become much less interested in trying out new things, so meet fewer people.
e.g. Wife knows someone at work whose husband plays at an open mic almost every wed. night. "You and your husband should come. He can bring his guitar and participate too." We did, and I did. I had a good time, went back several times. Cataracts make driving at night difficult, so as winter came on, and it got darker earlier and earlier, and the temperatures got colder and colder, I found it harder to work up the ambition to go out.
The applause is nice, but sharing the embodiment of the song is primary. Making new friends isn't even a part of the reason I'm there. Sure, I make conversation here and there, but not with any intent to form new relationships. If that's also true for most others there, it's little wonder new friendships don't get formed.
"It's difficult to make friends..."
Maybe because we're not even really trying? Maybe friendships are "worth it" when we're younger, but as we get older, they seem more trouble than they're worth?
@peterdrake
I'd have figuratively eaten three tacos instead. ;-)

iZombie is sort of that genre, but intersects a bit with police procedural and comedy.
