@Britt Haven't noticed it yet. I'm trying to keep the two separate. I do link here from twitter – mostly so that people who followed the dogs under my care, the pack, get used to this place.

Pietruszka, the smallest of , swimming across a ditch in the wetlands.

Keeping my tradition of painting octopuses on the bottoms of tables in hotel rooms alive 😀

The pack exploring a wetlands meadow close to our place. Usually it's much wetter here.

This is their royalty, the primary queen and king of a 9Yr-old Coptotermes gestroi colony, a subterranean #termite species. Note the queen physogastry, when compared to the king. Some termite species have the longest monogamous relationship in Insects owing to their remarkable longevity as functional reproductive adults.

This species is my primary biological model to study the #evolution of insect societies.

I'm gonna keep posting this until one of you fucking boosts it

I suppose it's time for an as well!

We're Xasin, Neira and Mesh, a bunch of furry nerds, enjoying their OpenSource shenanigans on side projects such as a DIY Smart Home, while working on sensor and monitoring equipment for science!

In regards to our scientific career, we are finishing up an M.Sc. in Energy Technology, with the intent to delve deeper into topics related to powerplant design.

Currently, we are pursuing an internship at the experiment, where we are developing a fast power loss detection system of the ECRH-Heating of the plasma!
Attached below is a screenshot of one of the panels for the sensor system :>

After that, we have a Technical Studentship at planned, where we will get the chance to work on the Magnetic Protection system for the upgrade.

On this account, we'll be posting science-related updates about work and other topics, so currently about the Wendelstein.

There's another account that will feature more of the personal tinkering at @xaseiresh@fosstodon.org :>

It is lovely to meet you all!

Seriously though, fedi was *built* by furries, trans and queer folk, disabled neurodivergent people.

This is *the reason* the culture here is what it is. Why CWs are a thing. Why image descriptions are a thing. Why privacy matters here. Why moderation tools not only exist, but are usable — and used.

If you had joined and asked yourself "wow, how come this place is so chill and kinda… nice?" — that's thanks to all the nice people from communities some people call "weird".

So #KeepFediWeird.

Because I haven't invested time in following people yet, but I do follow @entospace, my whole feed is of bees & wasps of Ireland. Honestly considering leaving it like this 🐝

Not sure if there are any folk here yet but if so "hi"👋 Looking for , accounts to follow/like or whatever the term is here! Please share recommendations

@apinae The Meltdown helped – I tried to join a year or two ago but couldn't find resources to get me through. Now I'm a small element of a quickly moving herd and it's easy :)

Just testing if it's still slow to upload photos. No - seems a lot better today. Here's a #perovskite just for the sake of it #nhmlondon #mineralogy #minerals

Saw a barn owl earlier.
Today had been beyond grim but this made it significantly better.
