I read [this book review of “The Conquest of Bread”](https://www.awanderingmind.blog/posts/2021-10-30-book-review-conquest-of-bread.html), where it says that #Kropotkin was very much against #parliamentarism, and I remembered: you know who else attacked parliamentarism, like, _a lot_? [Hitler](https://blog.tripu.info/mein-kampf/). Just sayin'.

Right, you mentioned you studied it in quite some depth back in college… I was thinking of “steelmanning” the other side of the argument, but it seems you know both sides pretty well already.
I can't recommend any books “in favour” (I love #HelenPluckrose and her approach though). But if I were delving deep like you, I would have some morbid curiosity to read some of the most recent (and popular) ones, such as “White Fragility”, “How To Be An Antiracist”, or (gasp!) “Antiracist Baby”.

Great thread, thank you 🙂
Did you read any book _in favour_ of #CriticalTheories etc? (If I had set aside the time to read ≥ 3 books on the subject, I'd make sure at least one of them is a robust defence of it…)
@fidel Yeah: two or three pieces of SW that you mention. My own set-up is quite cumbersome and manual, so I should be looking into some of those for sync'ing, backups, etc. 👍
That's a good pace. Keep it up!

Thank you for sharing!
Under #AprilOfMyLife I will post one photo every day of April, documenting my day to day life.
I’m joining former beloved colleague @tripu@qoto.org or @tripu@pixelfed.de who’s been doing it since 2008 and uses #dailyphoto, and perhaps @fidel too
@fidel @tripu gotcha!
I took a couple of selfies in the meantime just to be sure so I’ll figure out where and how I partake :) I’m thinking of using hashtag #AprilOfMyLife
Originally that was the case for a few years, yes. It was intended as a documentary of your day-to-day life in that April (I find that very useful as the years pass; one can always set a few photos as restricted to friends or contacts, or even private, when they're too personal). So one always appeared, usually in the middle of some activity.
In the last years, as life got complicated, I set fewer rules for myself, though. 🤷

I've been taking **one photo every day of April**, and sharing it online, [since 2008](https://www.flickr.com/photos/tripu/collections/72157616151140465/). Most years, a bunch of friends and virtual acquaintances followed suit, and we had good fun.
Today I started a new batch — here:
Today I've been microblogging for exactly **15 years**

The #Fediverse didn't even exist back then, of course
