There’s not a single policy the Democratic Party is uniqly advocating that’s comparable to this level of violence and authoritarianism.

@KarlBode Right, they are, but that's exactly why they're happy to see these government tools be used to hurt "big tech" who they feel have been silencing them.

They're excited to get behind the reins themselves.

I've seen many white guys say on social media how they'd be much more excited to vote for Harris than Biden.

Meanwhile, I see many women and PoC who keep saying "America won't vote for a black woman".

It's bizarre and feels backwards.

@Pyrite61 @charlotteclymer It's simple, really. Joe steps aside and Kamala takes the top of the ticket and picks a running mate.

Problem solved.

"Mass Deportation Now!" is a slogan of absolute evil. The ugliest, most vile thing I've ever seen as a political convention.

@glassbottommeg When I was in game dev college, there was one really rich kid in my class whose dad was planning to fund their startup the minute they left school.

It's amazing what some people can accomplish when unbound by the financial requirements of everyday life.

Here's my weekly assertion that Biden is going lose, thus causing the D-party, up and down the ballot, to sink (perhaps never to rise again given that Project 2025 will dismantle our Constitution.)

I am so very tired of the argument that "Biden did wonderful things" - that only reminds me of what is on every corporate prospectus:

""Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

Biden's new (third) case of Covid is a very good excuse for him to withdraw and let the convention pick a new flag bearer.

@claralistensprechen3rd If this is how you argue, then please argue for the Republicans, because your technique does far more harm than good.

Goodbye.

@claralistensprechen3rd @shaulawalko FFS, if you're going to make ridiculous hyperbolic claims, at least try to keep them consistent.

Your condescending, combative, ad hominem, exaggerating, purity-testing bullshit would be bad enough if it were directed to the correct target, but I'm your ally, dumbass. In this thread, you've exemplified everything that's wrong with the modern left.

@claralistensprechen3rd @shaulawalko Lol, then your entire argument pretty much falls apart here when you find out that Harris is exactly who I think Biden should be passing the torch to, huh? 😄

@claralistensprechen3rd @shaulawalko So if he ends up in a coma, we should just keep blindly lining up behind him because that's what people in primaries voted for months ago?

@peterdrake Nope. If I see Trump signs go up nearby, I may reconsider, but so far my neighborhood is completely free of political signs and I'm not gonna be the one to fuck that up.

@shaulawalko Democrats already are unified. We'll vote for whoever is on the ticket, even if it's a ham sandwich, to defeat Trump.

But Biden is too old and his campaign is too out-of-touch to win again. He needs to pass the torch to someone who is physically capable of energizing the swing voters we need to defeat Trump in November.

@glassbottommeg Gotcha. Been a while since I've worked on a project with good enough art to necessitate such sophisticated rigs.

@glassbottommeg

> building of the incredibly complicated stack of controls and logic you need to then animate it

Are you talking about things like setting joint rotation limits and setting up inverse kinematics?

@Mtn_Fox His administration has been pretty solid. His campaign, on the other hand? Just endless gaffes and unforced errors, one after the other.

When you compare his performance, even against himself 4 years ago, he just doesn't have the energy and coherence he needs to GOTV in the middle of the country.

He should have wiped the floor with Trump at that debate. A tie would have been worrying. What we saw was nothing short of disastrous.

@glassbottommeg Wait, what? I've rigged/skinned dozens of models in my career (admittedly, though, not well). What's the difference?

@abartlet Yep, no question about it. He can't even appear to be considering the offer... right up until the moment he takes it.
