If the Earth was the size of an apple, the atmosphere would be less than the thickness of the apple's skin.*

The portion of the atmosphere that humans can inhabit and breathe in is only one-fifth the thickness of the apple's skin.

I just visited a website that stuck 419 cookies on my machine!!!!

A single page on a single site, and they cramped 419 cookies onto my computer.

Also, whenever a site asks me to set cookie options and gives me the option of "only absolutely necessary cookies", somehow they think that doubleclick and youtube cookies are absolutely necessary to make they're site run.

Here is the definition of "woke":

woke - aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)

(from “Woke.” Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, merriam-webster.com/dictionary.)

If someone is "woke" they are aware of when a situation is contrary to the ideals exposed by The Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson. That political philosophy was developed by Thomas Hobbs and John Locke, among others. It is the foundation of the United States and many other republics throughout the world.

What kind of magnets do you need? Electromagnets, small large? Neodymium? By "options" do you mean custom made magnets or just a wide selection?

Ebay has a lot of vendors to choose from with a wide selection, but you'll want to stay away from Chinese vendors because they tend to grossly exaggerate specs and you never know for sure what you're getting. Just buy local if you can.

@Acer

Although make is most often used to build executables from C, it is a separate utility that can be used for many other tasks, not just building executables.

Thank you for the O.Chem lesson. (Chemistry is one of my weak areas.)

It's interesting that all of the molecules they use to make proteins are also acids.

I have one question for all of the anti-maskers and antivaxers in the US...

What have you achieved that was worth the lives of 700,000 Americans?

Yeah, I guess that's one of the reasons why I do them, so people might be prompted to look up the history or the subject matter... and also just because of the twisted logic.

I see that it was favorited 4 times, so I guess other folks liked that one also.

@trinsec

When I went back to read them just now, some of the make me laugh. I guess laughing at your own jokes is kind of lame, too.

I'm particularly fond of the one about the Naked Mole Rat.

@trinsec

I got the idea for this one from a guy who called CSPAN and mistakenly said "vaccine escaped from the lab" instead of "virus escaped from the lab".
