If anyone was wondering if #Elmo’s target audience got the message. “14/88” is a popular extension of “88” which adds the “14 words” about saving “white children” created by Nazi terrorist David Lane.
Numerous neo-Nazi trolls are adding the number to his comment to make sure he knows that they heard him clearly.
#EvacuateTwitter
I do like it here on Mastodon, but the huge influx of people from Twitter means there are far fewer image descriptions than from even a couple of weeks ago. I’d love to tell every one of them about this, but quite frankly there are so many I don’t have the patience. I’d dearly love it if apps could block posts unless an image description was added to every photo, but I suppose that’s too much to hope for. I’m feeling really excluded from so many conversations. It’s getting as bad as Twitter.
If you enjoy someone's post on #Mastodon go ahead and click the star. If someone tells you that's meaningless because there's no #algorithm, ignore them. Sure, boost the post too if you want others to also see the post, but don't think telling someone you like what they posted is somehow unimportant. In real life I don't tell someone, "good job," or "well said," or "I love that," for the sake of some algorithm, I do it because I'm human and they are too. It's fundamental to being truly social.
I've seen posts from people using #screenreaders saying that inline hashtags don't really bother them. They're already used to filtering out the extra stuff the screen readers say that this is practically a non-issue - that's what one screenreader users whose post got boosted to my timeline said anyway.
Still, I find overuse of them annoying even as a sighted reader, and try to have only one or two inline and the rest at the end of the post, just as a matter of preference.
@ypc_bunsen just to add: in the end I am staying on QOTO for the tech features I value. Works for me. And thanks to @freemo for the supporting admin and devel work.
F9or those who havent seen it yet this is the article that everyone is yelling at each other over across the #fediverse

@georgetakei create a new phone, or buy out a preexisting company and claim he made it from the ground up?
I want to setup a minecraft server for our family - any recommandations? #minecraft #server #lazytröt
@herid The one tool tthat would let you is very much frowned upon to endorse as it is written by Kiwifarms.
I can tell you that since I've seen the list it is very few large servers... its mostly limited to a bunch of single user servers and very small servers.
These servers are also known for being toxic so probably for the best. Most of them block the vast majorrity of the fediverse.
I want to thank everyone for the ovwhelming support for our cause, you guys mean a lot.
I have been tthinking a lot lately and thing I have a social solution to this problem. It is something I am going to start doing a writeup on ttoday. I think it will not just thelp QOTO but in general address the unwantant fracturing of the fediverse.
I will share the dettails once my writeup is complete but if anyone is intterested in hearing more or potentially help being a part of it, please reply here or reach out to me in DM.
@atomicpoet LOL. TBH, this tweet from Elon is how I found Mastodon. Didn’t know about this #mastodon before this info from Elon
@ArtsAtRandom @atomicpoet
Not to mention *incredibly* immature.
