@volkris we all tend toward confirmation bias. Acting as if it's one sided is funny.

Bugs on established retail websites. Basic system functionality suddenly not working right on my android phone. I'm assuming it's AI slop that was UAT'd by more AI rather than by human testers. Production quality is dropping.

Is AI the new offshore?

I left a company after years of being a technical lead and manager because they doubled down on offshore. I don't care where anyone lives. That wasn't the problem. I couldn't stay because the arrangement was cost over quality. They found what they wanted in offshore firms where the turn around was so crazy, it felt like every sprint I was having to onboard and train a new developer who had no idea what they were doing for the job or with the tech. "But it's cheaper! Look how many people we can pay for one local salary"

When something other than excellence is the top priority, quality will necessarily decline. Too often cost was the higher priority with offshore.

Right now it feels like it's the entire software industry, prioritizing speed first, cost second, quality a distant third.

@freemo @khird @barefootstache Hey are any admins on here still active? My profile has been 500-ing for some time now... becoming very frustrating. Can anyone help?

Could be database row corruption? Is anyone running maintenance commands etc these days?

Worst case, I could try moving instances but I doubt even that'll work if my posts can't even be pulled from the Qoto db/api...

We want the war horse. Jesus only comes on the peace donkey. There is no other answer. There is no better way.

@billyjoebowers a quick web search shows that gas prices are nearly two dollars per gallon less than they were four years ago.

Curious about the government's line that this current action is to prevent an impenetrable missile shield leading to a rebuild of nuclear leading to nuclear war, but that seems to be the line they're giving that would align with "avoiding war. " timing doesn't make sense for that, based on publicly available information.

qoto.org/@Paulos_the_fog/11615 really great example of a straw man argument. I wonder if he's got a whole collection of logical fallacy examples.

American culture is notably individualistic. However, the American Christian must not forget our responsibility to care for others.

Got up to see the lunar eclipse early this morning. Nice try, the lunar eclipse is just the latest distraction from the epstein files.

@cdarwin what do you make of the statements from Canada and Australia and other countries in support of the effort?

Trump has talked a lot about the strategy with Iran and what red lines would be. Maybe some press outlets are suppressing this to guard their narrative, so you haven't been hearing this for weeks?

Is Trump the first president to launch a strike without a congressional vote?

New conspiracy theory just dropped. The uprising of the Iranian people and subsequent escalation to another bombing was all orchestrated at a distraction away from files that the admin hadn't released yet but they must certainly have.

@light fascinating response to that video of Clinton and Obama

Everything I know about President Trump I've learned from paid corporate spokespeople and others in the media, all of whom have an agenda and a clear interest in how my perception of reality drives my choices.

The same is true of you.

Where we may differ is that I'm aware of it.

@GetsGreased it was one of the few differentiators of Southwest, an example in plenty of business books. I'm unclear why businesses get rid of their market differentiators. I'm less likely to fly southwest now as it's just like flying United or Delta or American.

@Drosmel I use everand for some things. It's more of a library of content than a place to purchase a specific audio book. It is a paid service.
