I'm not really keeping up on the Media's framing of this, but here's what I gather from toots I'm seeing about Musk and Twitter:
Musk is bad for unbanning people who were banned for political opinions and jokes. Because speech is violence, it's a safety issue.
Musk is bad for banning people live doxing the location of his children leading to people... Tracking down and stalking and confronting them. Not a safety issue like a satirical blog post with opinions that disagreed with The Party.
Musk can do no right.
Think of all the actually real life impact its had that the Babylon Bee can tweet jokes again, and that corporate spokespeople can't use the guys' own platform to endanger his kids!
It's chilling. And more newsworthy than the information coming out about how Twitter has been run until now. That whole category is information we shall call.... Bruno.
Using #vim is easy once you learn a few basic keybindings.
h and l - move left and right
j and k - move down and up
η and λ - move backwards and forwards through time
ξ and κ - translation through additional temporal dimension (if applicable)
ᚻ, ᛄ, ᚳ and ᛚ - moving left, down, up, and right through celestial spheres
𐤄 and 𐤋 - switch deity to pantheon member to left or right
ᛄ - supplicate to chosen deity
ᚳ - challenge chosen deity (dangerous)

80 games down. This one was tough. I like the game, but sometimes it's several times throughout the day staring at the puzzle to see the words.

One piece of advice for people new to #mastodon: follow capriciously. People are interesting! You lose nothing my following anyone who posts something you like. And then: unfollow just as quickly. Seriously. Nobody cares. You are creating a stream of things you're giving your attention to. You don't owe anyone your attention.
Follow fast, unfollow faster. Make this place a place you wanna be.
"If they would rather die," said Scrooge, "they had better do it and decrease the surplus population."
Ebenezer Scrooge, Patron Saint of Socialized Healthcare in #Canada.
From Stave 1 where Dickens is showing the damned character of Scrooge, destined for hell.
Sure enough, this was calculated and reported on a few years ago. This was before the new change allowing doctors to kill patients who aren't terminal, but have a broken bone, feel sad, or ask for a chair like the first post in this thread.
From the article from the original law allowing only end of life MAID, calculated only on those who would be Died by their doctors within the last month of life:
"Medically assisted deaths could save millions in health care spending: Report...
Across Canada, journal calculates up to $136.8 M in savings"
The savings exceedingly outweigh the estimated $1.5 to $14.8 million in direct costs associated with implementing medically assisted dying.
...
"It's just the reality of working in a system of finite resources."
The report also emphasized that it is only a cost analysis and doesn't include the clinical effects on patients.
______
I... I think I have a guess at the effect on patients...when you're killing them.
There's got to be a simple math formula about projected future tax revenue vs cost of treatment, right?
Not going to pay in more? We can help. By killing you.
Free up space from the surplus population.
Looks like it's time to read A Christmas Carol again.
"If you're so desperate, madam, we can offer you MAID, medical in dying."
A 52-year-old retired corporal Christine Gauthier, who competed in the 2016 Paralympics, had asked for a wheelchair lift to be installed in her home.
I used to say that it seemed the #Canadian socialized Healthcare system killed my grandmother, by putting her on a treatment wait list longer than her life expectancy when she has cancer after retirement... Felt at least from a distance like: treatment costs more than projected personal tax revenue? You don't get treatment. Just die. The system lowered overall costs by refusing treatment.
Saying this today is hardly shocking when the system in #Canada now just openly offers to kill patients when they ask for Healthcare.

The one thing people love most about QOTO it is our friendly nature where we treat people like a friend at a coffee shop, not an enemy to debate.. lets hope the #UFoI can bring that feeling to the wider fediverse.

Today I have a #salesforce code sample. From #Salesforce. It errors out. 🤦
Anyone out there successfully used #LWC to override embedded chat pre chat form? SF has a nice code sample to do this, but it has an uncaufht js error when the user clicks to start the chat.
👀 That's two #Salesforce CEOs out in one day.
Hi everyone. I just got signed up here, though I'm on other instances. As an #introduction I'll paste my bio. I'm a 47 year old #blind woman living in #STL with my spouse and our two cats. I work as a #Salesforce admin for a small nonprofit that helps train and place #disabled people in #tech jobs. I'm #christian and love #music, #animals, and technology of course. Please add descriptions to #images so I and other #ScreenReader users can enjoy them. Oh, I'm also a twitter refugee, so to speak.

I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.
