it is a problem indeed. I personally gave up on debating most of those anti-science people as it takes me hours to work out a point they can make in less then 30 seconds. Maybe that's kind of unethical, but it's life-draining.

@galacticstone

@Sci when I went out of facebook, it was like 5 years ago, I just took people email addresses and it worked fine. Everybody has an email address, it's even a must to get a facebook account. I have a healthier internet social life now, I think.

Idk, personally on mastalab and on the web UI I have to turn off replies if I don't want to see them, otherwise they'll appear in the home timeline. I like to read them, but I would avoid users posting 3k chars replies, so I'd enforce the 1k limit for replies too. Anyway, once you are in a conversation is not a problem to just press CW for the other person.

Hi, what is the dataset about, I mean, what data does it put in relation? I don't think I'd use a NY dataset, me being from Italy, but I could try and get the same data for my area, if it's interesting.

Thanks for your help!

I went to a local farmers market yesterday, and at the entrance I saw this.
A friend started saying 'that is me and you at the side circles, and the us in the middle, which is bigger than both', but I was all like 'ah, that's alright!'

@imvectech@libranet.de yeah, I've been waiting for it. Are subscriptions open yet?

@Downes diving into it right now! I'll let you know if the ship sails

@Downes and I thank you for that, I'm giving it a hard thought right now =)

@Downes (especially since I'm not a psychologist and would find myself out of my depths here!)

@Downes thanks! I thought about that, also using suicide rates, problem is that it would be quite difficult to establish a direct connection between the data... unless I manage to rule out other factors somehow, but looks extremely complex

For a statistics exam I have to choose a dataset, and would like to choose data about the environmental impact of agriculture, or urban agriculture, but can't get more concrete than that... damn, sometimes I forget how the hardest thing is asking the right questions!

Does anyone have a specific curiosity I can satisfy and use for my assignment? =D

@melpsn@mastodon.art I'm kind of a fan of Stamet's work, he did a great job in pushing forward the self-production of mushrooms, and divulging their potential... can't say I actually bought from his shop, being myself in Europe. Good luck with the shipment!

Fungiperfecti rocks, go for it

Mmhm, can't find her profile by searching and my client won't make me acceess to the profile... I'll try later from desktop.

Thanks!

@nervous_jessica
That looks so good! Are those mushrooms you study, a specific group, or..?

@squarer00t
Really like this!
I'l like to see a phylogenetic study of them, like which other life forms are related, and ancestor species... make a whole new, if small, kingdom (I wouldn't know if consider them animals or plants or... else).
