@dazinism

What was the episode? I just listened to a few of them, not really a fan.

@rynras

What I've done and yeah I know, it still sucks.

You are welcome, it was a nice find for me too.

Basically it leverages the work profiles on android, which is something I didn't know about. It's separated from the rest of the OS, not able by default of accessing the main profile's data, and under the control of an administration (shelter, here).

Another nice use case is if you want two profiles, for example two whatsapp profiles, or whatever, in the same device, as some apps are so retarded they think multiaccount is just for morally devious people who do not deserve the usage of their precious software.

What I've done and yeah I know, it still sucks.

thanks for your suggestion, that is what I would do but unfortunately (or, luckily) I'm not an employee, I need it to sell stuff online and to share info with other contractors, so no one is going to pay me for a monthly plan, another mobile and so on =D

What I ended up doing is installing , downloading with , cloning it into shelter and removing it from my main system.
I am all too aware that it's not a full , I'm just putting some wire net around it, not a full box, but it **shouldn't** be able to access my data.
It has its own contact book and gallery to refer to, and I can avoid giving it many permissions.

By using shelter I can also freeze it, so that I stop it from running on the background no matter what, which is good.

It still sucks, but I couldn't come out with something better.

I guess sooner or later I'll have to go with a second device though, it's mostly the phone bill that bugs me.

A shout for the nice people who helped me:

* yalp store: github.com/yeriomin/YalpStore

For working reason I'll have to install whatsapp on my mobile. To avoid it reading my contacts, stuff, running all the time and so on, is there anyone here running it using , or some other confining app? Any thought or best practices?
It's the first non FOSS app I install on my

@tjemni Today I'll mostly study, I think, have a nice nap and go to dance in the evening. Not too bad, even if I do not feel enthusiastic about anything lately.

On a small side project, I'm getting conscious of how many discussions I have that are basically solved by getting to the sources, so I'll try to streamline the process of giving and receiving sources.
Since many topics are frequent (homeopathy, climate change, water memory, biodiversity and hybridation...) having at my fingertips all the links will save me hours: I'll just say "stop here, I'm sending you this researches, get back to me after you've read them". And I can enjoy life more!

What are you up to?

@dcvoter
Hi, can I please ask you to CW long posts (>1000 characters), not to fill the entire timeline? It'd be appreciated =)

@theodraxis You surely know what you are talking about!

I'd be curious to know how much this induced neuroplasticity is reversible by avoiding such behaviour... how long would it take, and how it works.

@theodraxis Thanks for reminding me not to skim read.

Beside the neurological effects, which are very interesting, it also leaves me feeling like shit after very little =D

so, @snailix@mastodon.social , what about that website on your work in scientific education?

Uh, alright, solved, seems like the two integrate pretty well and I can save all my attachments on nextcloud.

Pretty cool!

I just read this article by my professor. It is framing a bit the natural sciences as historical, tackles the envy of physics held by many natural scientists and makes an analysis of as an ecologist, highlighting how he already pointed out most of what is now the staple of .

Wildly interesting.

@rynras
Just curious, why do you need to change the podcasts you listen to based on the color of the skin of the team?

Startalk has Neil deGrasse Tyson as host, and it's a pretty nice one if you like scientific podcasts (except for when they start shittalking and forget to properly tackle the main topic, but can't have it all =D ). It's not fiction I'm afraid.

I wouldn't know the ethnicity of who's running the podcasts I listen though, never really payed attention to it

@eleanorkonik
Welcome! Looking forward to both the fantasy and the studies :)

@freemo I don't mind eating bugs, but they are quite rare in Italy. I read you can make some nice burgers and stuff with them.

Growing them could be an interesting spring challenge...
