Tomorrow (March 10) is the last day to preregister for GameStorm, a (mostly tabletop) gaming convention in Portland, Oregon. The event itself is March 23-26 and will be masked.

Why does the label on a Moliterno cheese say "rind not edible"?
The label on Moliterno cheese may indicate that the rind is not edible because it may contain undesirable or unpleasant flavors, textures, or microorganisms that can affect the taste and quality of the cheese. The rind is the outer layer of the cheese that forms during the aging process, and it may develop mold or bacteria that are not harmful but can have a strong taste or smell.
In some cases, the rind may also be too hard or tough to chew, making it difficult to consume. Additionally, the rind of some cheeses may be treated with chemicals or other substances to preserve or enhance its appearance, which can make it unsafe or unhealthy to eat.
For these reasons, it is generally recommended to remove the rind before consuming the cheese to ensure the best flavor and texture. However, some people may still choose to eat the rind, especially if it is thin, soft, and flavorful. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and the specific cheese in question.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has thrown a pretty big salvo out: an EO declaring a refuge for gender-affirming care. Included is an order of non-cooperation with attempts to prosecute, refusal to enforce judgments against parents that seek gender-affirming care, non-compliance with subpoenas, and refusal to extradite.
This is especially big because Minnesota happens to be home to a little institution called "The Mayo Clinic." https://mn.gov/governor/assets/EO%2023-03%20Signed%20and%20filed_tcm1055-568332.pdf

I just had a great call with @davidslifka. If everyone had his same passion for making the Fediverse happen, it would be a lot easier to bring others here. Not saying your Uncle Leo and Aunt Martha will be migrating here just yet, but maybe some of the people they respect will, and they may follow.
I feel it's critical that we urge our friends to get a fedi ID and just learn how things work without any pressure. And certainly without "shaming" them for something millions loved once: Twitter.
Having already consumed an amount of this excellent earthy #Moliterno #cheese , I idly read the label and notice the small notation: "rind not edible".
Uh oh!!! 😁
The interwebs seem to say that only rinds of "wax, cheesecloth, or paper" can't be eaten, and this doesn't seem to be any of those. I wonder what's up with that?
