@Absinthe I have seen those pasta straws on web reports, yes -- and they are compostable after use, or you can chomp it down yourself and get some nutrients. Definitely better than plastic straws either way.

@shibaprasad Love it, posting to my politically active instance. TY !!

the best selfie i've ever taken, ec, diablo kitty 🐱

@natalie

Nah, that was me, reacting to a recent instance attack provocation, lol.... 😜

Loved the photos, my Familiar specially, mngrif. TY!!

@mngrif

@Lyle Great photo, where is it located?

Thanks for posting it, nice model indeed.

@Hedieh I am the same way too - it helps settle down the spirit and clean up your thoughts.

Have a good day, Hedieh.

Welcome to Qoto, elif. As eSagan explained, there's a lot of content we have no control over, it flows from other places. But you can filter that in your personal account, and not see it again if applying the right filters.

Local feed are posts made here, and you are welcome to join in. Enjoy the network.

* Letter to a Friend on Christmas morning *

Just wrote a reply to a good friend, a penpal via the app.

She sent me a nice letter and was not pleased with the multitude of tabs in use in my too busy browser .

Now the story is on my blog: write.tedomum.net/rgx/letter-t

And I jsut received a really nice Japanese Crane stamp from a friend in .

Love it - thank you! Now responding to your letter.

Had to share a snapshot for the friends who dig the stamp collecting in @slowlyapp - another of the neat ideas in this project.

@SecondJon I joined there many years ago, paid a one time fee and have the account.

200 books is not much for someone actively collecting and reading, agreed. I had seen mention somewhere of how to get a free account with them -- will see if I could find that again.

They now have a mobile app, and that should ease adding new books, allowing isbn code scanning I imagine. I entered all of mine by typing them in at the time.

@Hedieh To access mastodon network? School blocking you?

I use and recommend Proton VPN, they offer a free account with a limited number of servers, but it works. Paid accounts get many more choices.

Goodreads is well know and popular. LibraryThing less so -- Although some (like me) might prefer it.

Less social, more books and info. Faerye has a blog post with her comparison of the Two - great idea!
