I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with those much, it's mainly either PDFs I import and edit, or documents I create anew.

This is so cute!

I rarely have need for an office suite, but when I do I mostly use KDE's Calligra suite of apps. Not sure if they're as feature rich as LibreOffice and others (I think not), but Calligra apps are always stable, fast, and they don't mess up the documents the way LibreOffice often does in my experience.
Just your irregular/occasional reminder that I maintain a list of #ScientificWriting #Writing resources here: https://scientistseessquirrel.wordpress.com/writing-resources/. Always happy to have folks leave their favourite additions in the Replies.
Eating the products of factory farming. We willingly have our blinders on about it, make arbitrary distinctions about suffering (eg. dog vs pig), and engage in a lot of doublethink around the whole thing.
People in the future (esp. if they have factory-grown meat or other protein source) won't be as willing to take part in those mental gymnastics.
With sleep my body prefers one of two patterns:
1. Wake up at dawn, spend whole day awake, get exhausted by night, crash, loop. In this regime, I find myself not feeling rested after sleep for days.
2. Wake up when I wake up, often feeling well rested. Work as long as energy is above a threshold, switch context or nap if energy dips. Eat when hungry, sleep when sleepy, loop. In this chaos, I'm creative, productive and content. I take more breaks without guilt… but working with others is hard.

For messages you post, there's bridges like moa.party that let you post to Mastodon and automatically have it posted to Twitter.
But if you mean your feed (i.e. people you follow), I don't think either of the websites make that possible. I don't know if there's some third party app that combines and displays both feeds though, it's possible but I haven't heard about it 🤷♂️

Hello #Mastodon! I guess we'd better add an #Introduction!
Founded in 1935, the aims of the Prehistoric Society are to:
• Encourage & support high-quality research
• Foster skills & expertise needed to investigate #prehistory
• Disseminate #knowledge about our prehistoric past
• Raise awareness of value of #human prehistory
• Speak out for #prehistoric #heritage
• We produce a journal & newsletters, organise #events (many FREE & online) & give out #grants

It seems like the list of servers is manually added by @terry and not automatically determined? https://mastodon.world/@terry/109398050989076174 says "Added a few more server (instance) names to the Mastodon word cloud." so maybe they're adding ones as they come to know about more (large) instances.
I'm interested in what numbers these sizes roughly indicate as well, for eg., Qoto has about 10k active users, what's the server on this cloud that's closest to that?
I always chuckle when I see reminders to new users (here and elsewhere) that liking doesn’t boost visibility and they have to boost.
I know that Twitter worked that way, but I’ll be honest, I never clicked that heart thinking about discoverability. If I click ❤ or ⭐ it’s because I want to tell you I liked your post.
Social media doesn’t always have to be about “reach”, you know?
If you enjoy someone's post on #Mastodon go ahead and click the star. If someone tells you that's meaningless because there's no #algorithm, ignore them. Sure, boost the post too if you want others to also see the post, but don't think telling someone you like what they posted is somehow unimportant. In real life I don't tell someone, "good job," or "well said," or "I love that," for the sake of some algorithm, I do it because I'm human and they are too. It's fundamental to being truly social.
I assume you’re mostly here from Twitter and know this but I’m not a paid or professional writer so if you’re feeling charitable you can help support me here! I can’t yet support myself with writing so I rely on kind strangers to pay the bills. ✨ https://patreon.com/amy_a

Would do it if I could. Ideal for someone else who has great UX / product design chops.
@lethalbit alright. been a while since I checked out the Twitch side of things anyway, so I'll take a peek sometime soon.
@lethalbit
Hi, do you ever stream on Youtube? Or plan to?
I've seen posts from people using #screenreaders saying that inline hashtags don't really bother them. They're already used to filtering out the extra stuff the screen readers say that this is practically a non-issue - that's what one screenreader users whose post got boosted to my timeline said anyway.
Still, I find overuse of them annoying even as a sighted reader, and try to have only one or two inline and the rest at the end of the post, just as a matter of preference.
I think adding a few more general hashtags like ccg, cardgames, etc. could help a little.
But tbh I think people just haven't settled down enough yet to search for and follow fun/entertainment hashtags like this, most are still getting used to hashtag searches and are using them for "serious" topics of interest as of now. It'll take some time for people to relax and start looking for their entertainment interests here. (That's my theory anyway.)
@wickedgood
Yeah, I've seen more meta-discussion about Mastodon in these past few weeks than I had in years of being here before that, and by now it's getting kind of stale (even though I understand it's useful for the non-stop stream of newcomers, and have contributed to it myself).
I'm hoping it's just a temporary thing, and I do already see it slowing down in my timeline.
