My new setup in the Netherlands. I'm using a drawing table as a computer desk because it is adjustable height, cheap, and fits my laptop. The monitor is a 40" widescreen.

@Surasanji I am actually good friends with @mngrif from years back. We lived together for a bit in philly actually :)

@mngrif Must be a lot nicer in kentucky than philly then. Extremists like this are damn near impossible to avoid in philly these days.

This is what existing as a normal person in the USA feels like (which is why I am in the sanity of the Netherlands).

@arteteco Agreed, that seems like the best way to get it all without completely destroying the user accounts. I;ll look into LDAP today and if i can export the users successfully and automate the import into LDAP I'll make it official. You still interested in helping, I can set you up with some admin privilages and we can try to tackle it together

@Surasanji @iLikeAltitude @QOTO

@arteteco The big issue is doing the LDAP with **existing users**. I can very easily setup LDAP but we would all loose our accounts. I can also set it up without LDAP where each service requires a different username.

What is very hard is figuring out how to export the existing users and passwords from the database to an LDAP server to migrate seamlessly.

With that said i can just bring up the servers without LDAP till i figure it out but then I might be digging the hole deeper.

@mngrif I'm down. But im in my house at the netherlands for a bit right now (you are welcome to visit here got a room for ya)

@mngrif Congrats man! I had a good week as well (7 lbs down this week).

@Gargron Nice and clean. I use a white theme and i think it would work well on light themes too. I'm down.

@arteteco Haha: Math, Software, Hardware, in that order :) I work with advanced math specific to algorithms, machine learning, statistics, and a few other obscurities with an educational background in all of that plus biology and Organic chemistry...

I branched out a lot in my education and career.

@arteteco I agree, scan a few days out in either direction.

The positive part is easy, well for me, its pretty much what I do for a living, this kind of algo.

Basically the simplest but very effect design would be a class of Naive Classifier called a Bayes Classified. They are really good at categorizing positive or negative tones and there are large examples of starter datasets to train off of.

Of course the script would ideally provide the option for the user to see the results and change the automated determination. Probably would have to add white lists to make it really be useful.

For international women's day I decided to write a open source script I'll share with the world.

It will scan your friends list and make a record of everyone that posts a positive female message on women's day. On international men's day it does the same. It then compares everyone on your list and if someone posts on one day and not the other they will automatically get unfriended. Leaving only friends who either posted about neither events or both.

It will be a sort of automatically sexist filter. Best part it will retroactively look through historic Facebook posts and detect anyone you've already been friends with for at least a year (or however long you set it too).

@guizzy Dude if I ever meet you we are smoking together. I'm bringing a camera :)

@NormalPopsicle They mean entierly different things. Mastodon is a specific piece of software which supports the ActivityPub standard.

Fediverse is the collection of servers, many of which dont run mastodon at all, which are implementing the ActivityPub protocol.

They literally mean entirely different things.
