@admitsWrongIfProven I gave notices kver weeks but i wasnt specific on when till the last second. It was planned.

is back after a long migration in the first stage of our upgrade. Now that we are on a new home we will give it 24 horus to see if the move was bug free (As it seems to be) and then we will start upgrading versions one at a time day by day.. The upgrades are prepared and ready and should be **much** quicker.

The move took a while as we keep a backlog of every message to the start of the fediverse so our media and DB stores are quite large and it took a long time. But we are back!!!

I think if a problem can be solved by burdening the individual, rather than burdening eveyone collectively, that is a good thing not a bad thing. This way an individual can choose their level of desired safety and the cost/effort associated. One size fits all solutions are rarely good choices.

That said, I think this depends largely on what we mean here. Certainly some solutions make sense on society and some on individuals and there is no blanket statement that works there. So th real question is, what solution are you purposing at a societal level?

I think some reasonable things, of course, are many of the laws we already have in place. Where there may be lacking is actual enforcement and investigation of such matters, and I'd agree that should be done well to help protect citizens against fraud that is blatant and provable (the person lied, knew they were lying and intentionally lied)

There is a part of me that wants to go full darkside and start a flat earther youtube channel that uploads real looking but actually photoshopped proof the earth is flat.

Then just rake in millions and watch the world burn.

I just cant bring myself to fan that fire though.

@peterdrake That is a very interesting statistic and honestly, totally expected since I do feel women are biologically wired to worry about their children more than men. Not to say men dont care but men seem more likely to stress less.

Witchcraft : Watchdog Integrated Tracking Computer for Horseless Carriages Running AI Flavored Toolkits

This still remains, hands down, the best name for a product I ever came up with. It was the name for an AI powered baby detection system that alerts mothers when they leave their baby in the car.

@AlphaKiloPapa I dont really fuss with instagram enough to know... It **looks** like the dynamic is different there. Like the people are real not just spammers it sjust that they mass follow to get follows back and attention.

Almost the same thing but on facebook 100% of these women are men trying to do nigerian scams. On instagram they are who they say they are (mostly, i think) and just trying to sell makeup or whatever else brand.

How to tell if its a spam bot on Facebook:

1) They are of the opposite sex
2) They are attractive..

::hmmm a beautiful woman wants to talk to me... there is some tomfoolery afoot!::

How do you feel about physical touch? I mean this is the broad sense, not necessarily in a sexual way, but you can answer however you wish.

Personally, I enjoy it a lot, and find it comforting, but only from really specific people. If strangers or people I don't know well want to hug me, it's okay, but I won't seek it out. I think handshakes are weird. Hey, you want to hold hands with a stranger for a short amount of time for some reason?

@RickiTarr

I am a hugger, while I try to respect others wishes I will opt for a hug any day.

I remember once, as a straight man, I went to a bar and there were a few self identified gay "bears" there. One wanted a hug and im like "sure, as long as you know im straight, come here" and gave him a big hug. The whole group wanted one.. I think it would have been awkward for most straight men, but I thought it was a nice friendly gesture that didnt cross the line. Afterall they were nice enough to ask.

@northernlights

Thats a shame,a nd it made sense to stop during the height of COVID. I say its time to bring it back! We need to recover from the stress COVID caused the nation and i think getting back to normal is a good approach.

@RickiTarr

A kind old black lady screaming "lawdy lawdy lawd" everytime time something goes wrong is exactly the right amount of southern charm for my sensibilities, just saying :)
