I disavree, while the i tnterpritation of the co stitution does hange over time, it should not. It should be interprited as the law wad written to be. You want to change a law you shouldnt be playi g word games you create a new amendment. It was never ibtended tk be vague but itnwas intended to be amended.

The Roe opinion was a total mess. Privacy? That’s just absurd. It should have been based purely on the liberty clause of the 14th Amendment without reference to privacy. Casey wasn’t much better. The overarching problem is Congress shirks its responsibility so they don’t have to face voter backlash and they just push everything onto the Court, which is unaccountable to the voters. Then SCOTUS ends up twisting and tweaking itself into a corner trying to legislate.
Also, as you have noted elsewhere, we a need a clear definition as to personhood, which would resolve the issue definitively.
Well, now the ball’s in Congress’ court (pun intended) so let’s see if they have the balls (pun intended) to fix it.

Yes agreed congress is a mess and they arent living up to their reaponsibility of addressing this. Id happily support a ammendme t which gives limited protection to abortions. Not sure basi g it on liberty alone is going to cut it as liberty is enumerated in the constitution and doesnt include abortions sadly.

I never claimed the original 2a needs to hold forever. But if yoibwant to change it you need the 2/3 vote to change it. What you cant do ia pretend it says something other than it does or other than it intended to.

That may be what you want it to mean. But it didnt mean that. The people who wrote it explained quite clearly what thry meant and the usage of the 2a on day one xlearly demonstrated it as well.

No the right to bear arma is **not** contingent on militia. The militia statement is clearly given as one example of why the right is needed. It ia not and never has been inte sed as the sole purpose.
This is very clear by how the ammendment was applied since day one.

The issuenwith mental health backround checks is that youbeffectively say if you have mental problems and vo seek help then it will be on your perminant record and you loose a fubdemental right...
End result... no one who wanta to own will see a psy hiatrist out of free of being flagged... worst possible thing you coukd do in a country that needs to be encouraged to seek more help not less.
