Friends, today was the anniversary of the Polytechnique attack. Please take a moment to consider the obstacles still faced by women and minority STEM students in many parts of the world, and, if you can, lend your support as they confront those obstacles.
There is a 100% chance that if you use the phrase "cognitive dissonance" that you are, in fact, a moron trying to sound smart in an argument you already lost.
Man this is why people have to learn you cant oversimply your beleifs, if you do its little more than dogma.
1% dead is a lot, its a hell of a alot. Imagine if every time you flew somewhere 3 - 4 people died on the plane (1%), I bet you might think twice before taking that plane...

@freemo No offence taken. Biases are a good thing to examine. Perhaps I didn't fully understand your initial argument. Are you saying that cities that had large protests had COVID cases that (adjusted for the onset time of the virus) increased while the protests were happening and then decreased once they died off? And that you can infer exact dates from these shifts?
