@freemo Yeah, one thing I was struck by was the constant talk of himself and what he (supposedly) did, instead of what we did, or what the government did, etc. Humility would be nice, but at least he should realize that it wasn't a moment to talk about himself.

The big problem with the #Biden State of the Union speech was that instead of speaking to the whole country about the whole country, it focused on speaking to his own choir about himself and his reelection.
That's why people are criticizing it as a campaign speech.
If you're a Biden supporter, realize that the speech did not invite non-supporters, including independents, to join in his efforts. It appealed only to those already on board, which is not productive in terms of actually getting those efforts done.
In other words, if you're in favor of what Biden was calling for, you too should be critical that this #SOTU won't help get those things done.
The speech seemed focused on helping nobody... except Joe Biden's personal reelection.

Seems our load balancer is a little under powered and its stalling momentarily from time to time. Most of you probably didnt even notice it but some of you may have.
I am going to upgrade that today to the next level. May result in up to 5 minutes down time (the new architecture will have multiple load balancers).
All I want are affordable common-place off the shelf CPU heatsinks made of diamond. Is that so much to ask?

Back in 2015 I was notified of a vacancy by Jobserve. The vacancy fitted me to an absolute T, but after reading the job spec a couple of times, I realised that it was the job spec that I had written myself to recruit my replacement as I was retiring!
Just for fun I decided to do the math to calculate the amount of Ozempic/semiglutide in my system based on the usualy dosing of every 7 days (in red), versus dosing every single day (at 1/7th) the dose (in green).
The two colors represent the upper and lower limit (it will at the upper limit right after a dose and at the lower limit right before a dose).
Notice that dosing every day makes for a much more stable concentration. Note this assumes a 1 mg dose (y-axis) and the x-axis is in days. I will start dosing every day tomorrow.
For those curious I also attached the equation that I calculated (derived) for the half-life. Both in its continuous form and as the summation.
Im currently hiring people and we have this running joke whenever we interview someone for a Sr Developer position who feels closer to an intermediate. I usually go "Ya think he will buy it if we say he misheard and the position was for a Señor Programmer?"
At this point im pretty sure we are one election away regardless of who wins.

@freemo The Oct 7 attack is looking like a strategic victory for Hamas in one sense.
Israel's response has destroyed the Holocaust-survivor shield that has made Israel untouchable all these years.
If Israel loses international support, it is a small country surrounded by more angry young men than it has bullets.
Hamas "attacked the enemy's strategy" as Sun Tzu advises. Israel did exactly what Hamas wanted them to do in response.

@freemo The domestic politics is horribly conflicted. The Israel lobby remains very powerful, but the Democrats are catching hell from the Left over Palestine. So they are trying to please two masters, and will end up earning the wrath of both.
Which might just hand the Presidency over to Trump.
We could save a lot of money if we killed fewer people, just saying.
