When the Earth Held its Breath
When the earth held its breath, and the trees stopped speaking in green, I found your shadow pressed into the silence— not like absence, but like the memory of warmth left in a chair after someone has risen.
I did not call your name. It was already there, inscribed beneath the skin of rain, folded into the hush of wheat fields bowing under the weight of their gold. Even the wind carried you— not as sound, but as the echo of longing before the voice has formed.

When the Earth Held Its Breath

When the earth held its breath,
and the trees stopped speaking in green,
I found your shadow pressed into the silence—
not like absence,
but like the memory of warmth
left in a chair
after someone has risen.

I did not call your name.
It was already there,
inscribed beneath the skin of rain,
folded into the hush of wheat fields
bowing under the weight of their gold.
Even the wind carried you—
not as sound,
but as the echo of longing
before the voice has formed.

There were no angels.
Only the dust rising
from the soles of tired workers
who knew love by its weight,
not its wings.
And still, the sun leaned low,
willing to touch the dirt
just to reach us.

You were the breath I took
before understanding what it meant
to be hollow
and still full.
You were the salt in my wound
that sang.

Oh, what a terrible, beautiful thing—
to be stitched into another’s silence.
To be the ache
someone calls home.
To carry within you
the whole cathedral of their absence,
lit by nothing
but the soft, persistent flame
of remembering.

And still—
I would carry it.
The ache, the salt,
the tender ruins of your voice
crumbling somewhere
between my ribs.

I would carry it
into the next life
and the next,
and the next—
not because I must,
but because
even grief
was more beautiful
with you in it.

A poem I just wrote as I sit here missing Noi Noi (my fiancee). She is so far away its hard, but I hope to see her soon.

I feel like when thinking about celestial scales we should talk in terms relative to the scale.

For galaxies use the diameter of the mily way. So Andromeda is 25x away by that measure.

Within the solar system use the diameter of the sun. Using that measure the earth is 108x away from the sun.

Universodon is literally one of the servers that blocked us for being "free speech - no hate speech" server... Oh the irony of them complaining about the world they helped create.

Do we understand what’s happening, America?
The most nefarious departure from America's Founding vision that the political class has achieved is for it to become taboo for normal people to talk about politics around the common table.

@freemo @amerika @louis There was this like really small flickering of hope that lefty and righty people were actually talking in a halfway respectful manner.

Kinda snuffed that out.
@freemo @amerika @louis Hold on did this thread start out as an old-style argument between a relatively normal republican and a relatively normal democrat?

:kanna_inspect: This is like a living relic, it's so rare to see left and right wing people inhabit the same spaces on the internet nowadays.

@amerika

One thing i realize about this discussion, and I may do a write up, is how people, most people in fact, cant really see the world in absolute terms, only in relative terms. Like if the democrats were acting this way 20 years ago when republicans were actually acting somewhat rational I bet even your most staunch democrat would say the democrats have went completely radical and were acting like lunatics. But when it sits next tot he republicans who are just as loony they seem reasonable and normal.

The fact that most people base what is acceptable based on relativity to the norm, rather than an absolute sense of reason is scary, and perhaps one of our biggest flaws.

(note: no offense to Louis, while he may have resembled some of that here generally he is a pretty reasonable and respectable feller).

@louis

Man showering feels sooooo nice. I have to wonder, did we evolve to feel this way or did the first prehistoric human to use soap and water feel this good.

Just a reminder, Palestinians show 81% to 87% genetic heritage with natives who lived on the land from the time Ancient Israel existed. In other words, they literally have scientific proof they are natives from the land that continued to live in the area for over 4400 years.

To quote wikipedia:

Palestinians, among other Levantine groups, were found to derive 81–87% of their ancestry from Bronze age Levantines, relating to Canaanites as well as Kura–Araxes culture impact from before 2400 BCE (4400 years before present)

Atleast he fought back, unlike the USA, Putin owns our ass without firing a shot. Trump truely is a pathetic weak little man.
