It looks like another surge of twitter users might be on the way... One user just mentioned some drama over at twitter with musk locking out employees. I looked at the users bot (see attached quote) and youll notice a distinctive spike starting to form off to the right... here we go

Turns out this is not from the books at all. It was just fan fiction.

Good results so far.. some server admins told us to fuck off and wouldn't even listen. But quite a few so far have told me we are now removed from the block list. Several others are reviewing our timeline and will make a decision.

I expect many instances wont listen since they never bothered to fact check the accusations in the first place. But the fact that in less than an hour many have already agreed to unblock us is enough for me to consider this a successful interaction.

So I reached out to admins of the few instances that block us with a polite email explaining some of the misinformation spread about us in the pastt and describing the situation in some detail in the hopes it will be resolved.

Luckily nearly all the instances are very small and its not a big deal since our federation footprint remains one of the largest int he fediverse, but I felt it was an effort worth making.

Anyway, seems the drama is already begining and even more flat out lies are getting thrown around be a few:

Luckily despite a few bad actors most of the people I contacted reached out to me in good faith and several seem to be willing to reverse the ban. Lets hope the people who actually bother to fact-check win out on this one.

I just noticed @alex copied QOTOs rules/about page when he wrote the gleasonator about page. I dont mind of course, I am glad he found them valuable. A lot of servers seem to replicate our rules in fact, its an honor if anything.

I'm glad he fund it valuable.

Everyone please be aware that the service we used to use that provided tickers went down and doesnt plan to go back up.. This unfortunately slows down the default theme.

As such I switched the default theme to the no-ticket theme and this works just fine. However im not sure it will help for people already signed up on the server.

To fix the problem please go intto your preferences and change the theme to the no-ticket theme.
