@freemo Oh, it's not exclusive to gay men. There are straight men who use that voice. Usually, they are referred to as "metrosexual". It's just that straight men have *significant* societal pressure to speak "normally" if they want to ever get laid or be employed, whereas gay men have the opposite incentive (at least for the getting laid part). I truly believe that *every* man has that voice inside him... just a matter of how close to the surface it gets.
As for the thing about trans women: many of them are seeking, above all, to fit in as their new gender, so they tone a lot down. But there are absolutely women (cis and trans) who are every bit as catty as the gayest men. Just watch any reality show on TV, lol.
this new RFC 9564 is comedy gold: "Faster Than Light Speed Protocol (FLIP)" - this uses LLMs to predict what packets <would> be sent, thus obviating the need to actually send them. The Acknowledgements section is just... <chef's kiss>. https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9564.html #rfc9564
I am sitti g in the Tokyo airport right now on a connecting layover. I must say the japanese culture is quite sweet, i like it. They are just so eager to help, and when you show any sign of respect (like cleaning up after yourself by putting away bins) thry all flock to give enthusiastic thanks... It really is quite nice, i think i need to stopnover here for a few months sometime.
@rmx @freemo I know two men with moderately but clear gay accent and manner, but they are married with children. In their case it is probably innate or acquired from very early age. I doubt that they started acting in this way deliberately.
So, I suppose that we can born with this accent/manner (i.e. it is one of the many configuration of our brain), and that it is more common in gay men.
Culture can amplify some patterns, but there is usually also a biological reason. Like male and female manners.

I would love to undertand better the reason/psychology/development of some homosexual men to speak in that distinctive way of speaking that seems exclusive to gay men. Like it isnt an accent, and doesnt seem to occur naturally since its exclusive to that group. Do gay men make it a point to learn to speak that way at some point? If so why?
My best guess is as a way to show their orientation publicly to signal to other gay men, in an effort to creat connections or find companions that are also gay? But that would imply its a conscious thing they learnedto do at some point?
PS please no inconsiderate responses. Be respectful people.
@freemo Remember some “quote” of someone:
“There is no british and american English. There is just English and grammar errors.”
I mean just look at her career.. she started it as a kid who decided not to go to school (every kids dream) and tried to use as an excuse that it was some sort of climate protest.
That would be like a education activist protesting the lack of good education by dumping oil in a river. It did nothing to help advance climate change concerns and ultimately was just an excuse for her and others to not get an education (which may have been a useful tool in addressing climate change).
But she got famous for it, and the more famous she got the more she continued and just like the self-serving interest of not needing to go to school, now her fame is that self-serving interest. I mean lets face it, she was a poor student and really has no skills of anykind to make an actual career or to make any real change.
And blocked...
Liberals are so damn predictable. I wonder if they realize they are the biggest promoters of the right with this shit.
You just cant have a conversation with them, ever, even when your on their side.

@freemo @admin @lowqualityfacts βProducts result from the collaboration between labor and the tools and other capital goods that **foresighted planning by the entrepreneur has brought together**.β Ludwig von Mises
The employees… make the goods and services? they make the stuff and sell the stuff; they do all the work, that’s why they should get the profits.
None of which would produce any profits at all if it werent for the investors, CEO, management, sales, etc. Simply providing one element of 100 needed to make profit doesnt mean you deserve all the profit.
Anyway, this ultimately comes down to whether or not you think exploitation of labor is immoral, and obviously you don’t, so there’s no point in me arguing with you over this
Exploitation of people, labor or otherwise, should be illegal. We dont disagree on that, though if you think not giving 100% of the profits over to labor is exploitation then where we disagree is what is exploitation, not if it is moral to do.
@freemo The ticker is back now.
