While it's good to do some questioning and inquiry, reading of the last few posts to judge someone, looking at their avatar etc... you can't expect to understand everything connected in a short and in a non-deep way... That would lead us only to a newer Twitter ;)

So yes allow a bit of strange or weird (which is actually often the "new" or unique) sometimes / often.

No one person trusting anyone or using the job title as a kind of filter is also meanwhile not useful because it's not building trust properly by yourself ( by your not practising it or being too protective online without Capitalistic labels )...

You have people that don't answer some people based on avatar which is being too sensitive while they might put their name and address everywhere somehow trusting everyone else in the world!!...
(not going to name who but it's quite hypocritical because online is a lot safer as any real risk and more people are just scared of a user online without educating themselves).

Trust-as-you-go is also possible and means things are totally blind or totally "anon" (take a deep breath!). Even if I say I am this or that as #anon / #noname / #activists / #archivist then still by what I say and do online, what I and other boost and have done with others IS tangible -

You can feel free to question that if you cannot just work positively forward as 'best we can' and with constant clarity as main parity check along the way publicly as safety somewhat and privately...

MY FURTHER IDEAS & THOUGHTS AS #PEER CHECK #PEER2PEER AUTHENTICATION (somewhat)

One or more people can make tangible trust between those others that have already talked to / experiences with and can prove for others they are ok or at basical communicable level

And even dox them or their actions if really really really needed. It's like more community eyes on us where pointing fingers also is a judge on you (rather than silent judgement people don't see and is your error in withholding / not giving trust / Ubuntu but in negative form).

Most people don't want to do do bad or have reasons we need to sort anyway... even #jokers #shitposters or #shitpost genre in general are amazingly honest and obvious flavours and still truthful to themselves at least so not bad at that level either - actually very clever too usually and diverse in creation and even truth. Honest in that (even clear racists) are helpful to see online and serves them too with outlet usually without violence if it does then we need to know about it too which trusting more does)

We accept somewhat distrust but as part of building from where we're at can use all people willing and accept filtering and even openly justifying why...

What is missing on Fediverse and everywhere now certainly in real life for various reasons mentioned... which doesn't make anonymous people guilty of a crime or bad, but almost the regular opposite though systems or people can assume otherwise without name, age, birth etc info which makes people uneasy without.

FOR THOSE ABLE TO BELIEVE....

This audible version says my heart what many of us say in various ways, which I can accept is a better interpretation or needed as various medium to bridge to each other. Audio shows underlying #psychology and even main problems of why problems continue (!)

Again many ways can lead to similar ways but the same / ID ways online can often lead but it's "safety" to the same limited bad ways for 'good' 'spam-free' filters people's brain does online... all this is great for for States and System's when people reveal themselves online (Scholars I understand a bit more if out there or career making) but often assume there is no other way and makes it too easy for Capitalism to see / pin comms, and then work on preventing them. I could give you examples but jail time for speaking out (without violence, without much) is actually enough evidence itself (unless you don't believe there are people sitting in jail now too easily from their own evidence - could have been a bit better and assumed one day it would come to that).

Much like a wing-man or wife speaking for their partner, people like Shaun Chamberlain @DarkOptimism (whose work I really recommend) are needed to talk for us (and OK more credible as representative of principles / not titles as much as that shows some skill) and show others a more accepting or measured way to get us all there and what we anon feel excluded from and able to do (if not block us after!).

Shaun helps people see and bridge their own gaps (it is your gap not mine but I don't mean everyone listed here or that I'm perfect).

But you're able to do more with me / other / anon people, spam-looking even who still hold logic, persistence, usable energy etc and include them and not just ignored based on pseudo-name, nickname, username,... or dodgy looking links you don't even test

Not people defining themselves by capitalism's "work", not just in tech (where it can help see another pure coder) but everywhere now less are doing the caring work and head in computers (the hard stuff and what coders might be avoiding / running from because we are reliably imperfect - and human, but doesn't make us bad or helping humanity get better by not doing more of or coding ever more disposable code). Humans also transfer many things reliably and in the now.

Robotic and too safe / sterile
= less trust, friendship, practise, ...

Not doing the deeper human work then yes you're part of a culture in decline...

...yes even without name or passport control or answering adequately "where are you from?' questions... all of that can be too much now we are culturally / historically raped, all mixed or sterilised in some form, or just disconnected. And wish to focus on other stuff first... maybe even therapy of all that along the way for everyone...

We shed identity of Capitalism's kind and Capitalism also raised the bar of being complicit in 'system' #war / #extractive #factory types of uncaring #systems

🛂 ID is the same copy and paste for uncaring Capitalism as a conditional start (and end) to everything, so make note of that. 📔

Those questions are even not so needed (but ok if some want to answer but accept some don't) We also most certainly will offer it later don't worry - just not in your order currently.

You need to have better faith than me at least- and if you don't - justify it... so that our survival in the future isn't just about people who didn't try with genuine people (assume 99% are or testable as-you-go to understand what their type IF it not clear from profile or first messages).

Can't ignore anonymous real responsive logical people, activists who know what we use online, and good reason for being protective (nothing to do with you directly) and yes almost a curse we have on ourself to bare like not having Facebook but hold highest principle of self-protection from system holding close because we know data collecting and mapping and whatever is all future 'prevention' in the making from our comms and *IDentifying* people.

WITH "more anonymous" in mind people like me .... i.e. Less defined by role in society (since anyway we are rejected) and less ID or less passport upfront means even #activists don't understand a different version of #activism - such that activist-scholars don't understand or want to understand other too well - which means they can't practise without psychological unrelaxedness even when a genuine anonymouse comes a long. Staying inside activist-scholar realms is also dangerously easy to shut down.
I could tell you how but I think those than almost dox themselves are also needed and part of it - each can work in their own way.

And instead play it so safe it can play our reasoning or even coming out of boxes and assumptions.

The reasonable expectation and interactions

Because I / we are frequently ignored based on prejudice of holding back our exact identity or profession (we are protective from system more than anything but doesn't mean we want to attack everyone we contact and profile says a lot about a person which make us no totally anon / random / without principle)

The value of being yourself more than your position in Capitalism or Scholarly position *first*... can be seen by people who don't reply back for x/y reason (mostly not taking the time to check even though they might want to do that anyway - I could put a better front fascia but at least honestly I don't)

The quality of believing in people, Trust-as-you-go or "at the speed of Trust" and increasing reassurance rather than ignore or shut comms down.

I consider it cruelty and cause of suffering for people to ride others like that even if it's not obvious by top-level people who putt arbitrary / keep-them-working numbers to things just to maximise people / tax etc... basically things are whatever it means to them (increasingly crazy and meaningless life) and keeps people sending them money and %'s through a system (of getting money)...

Those people pay the minimum for us, take the profit and often go to #war with it too because they don't care ultimately otherwise they would find a way to talk and care and make most people happen (I feel it's the opposite and they are totally not interested).

People more interested in warring on their own people and others- can't be trusted.

Grow your own food, get out of traps etc...

It managed to capture the true spirit of our time, the erosion of rights like privacy or freedom of movement, the erosion of ancient national traditions, of spiritual convictions that grant dignity to human life, or inherited ethnic roots, by globalist cabals, in favour of rootless consumers, and a homogenous global migrant labour force, in a way very little else has. A French woman lamenting the loss of national sovereignty, tastes, and identity, to globalist-driven internationalism. Political change that was never sought, elected, or given democratic mandate, driven by faceless cabals. American nationals rebelling because the principles of the American Revolution have been sold out to international finance. If a certain type of fiction, is meant to take a serious look at society, it looks downright prophetic compared to things that pose as serious observational takes today. To be fair, cyberpunk of all kinds predicts a dystopia, but Deux Ex presented it's case in a way that has aged like wine. At the time, I just thought it was a cyberpunk trope to imagine the worst corporation-ruled excess, in which everything was commodified, and that Deus Ex was one permutation of this future. Today, we have seen the entire planet locked down, a vaccine administered without years of trials that usually accompany a new medicine, campaigns directed against the heritage of nations, school-imparted historical illiteracy; so Deus Ex's depictions of disaster policy, or how information is controlled, looks very apt.

Most criticism of globalism, around then, used to be leftist, at least outside America; more anti-capitalist agenda driven, seeing class as the only dimension of life, rather than being just generally pro-living things, pro-truth, anti-exploitation, they were vaguely socialist or anarchist. This was before most European and American leftists, usually middle-class, were revealed to care more about rootless internationalism, access to exotic food, and open border migration than their own people's suffering or welfare. The majority of socialists were revealed as the ally of globalism, their media using tools of 'social justice' to further erode actual justice. Primarily leftist critiques tended to suppress the ethnic-denying and destroying component to globalism. National tribes being one of the principle barriers to internationalism and thus one of the foremost targets of globalist propaganda. Suddenly nations that had been homogenous for 20,000 years, with organic customs, were "always migrants", etc. Deus Ex was more balanced, showing that the nation state has been a potent barrier to international financial agendas, often the primary means a people had of resisting global empire. Showing favourable attempts at resistance rooted in American, French or Chinese national tradition.

Even Human Revolution is suprisingly true to the spirit of the first game. I think it's the second solid entry. Taking a look at science magazines and predicting where transhumanism would be in a decade or two through short 2-page ebooks. Some of it's in-game takes now look remarkably based for a 2011 cross-platform game on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC; criticism of the EU (something that is a totally contentious in some circles now), United Nations and cartels like the Bilderburg Group. Media that focused on something other than predictable establishment approved messages, was given more of a pass in those days. Whether or not they just threw whatever interesting 'conspiracy' they had into it, or had a more concerted world view, it worked out well.

Deus Ex is relatively formulaic in its presentation, it's basically the core cyberpunk values as developed in the 80s but adorned by late 90s americana. Much of it is there in William Gibson's works. Cyberpunk is basically an answer to reaganomics and the cocaine induced enthusiasm of 80s yuppies. Deus Ex didn't create anything, but it is the best example of cyberpunk in gaming, because it is very matter-of-fact, and every aspect of cyberpunk and its aesthetic and themes are taken at face value.

My favorites would be Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, The Matrix, Syndicate Wars, and Deus Ex.

I feel as the term "Cyberpunk" has been perverted a good bit over the years, but yes, Deus Ex, and to an extent the prequels are contenders, at least with regards to computer games.

If I remember correctly Mike Pondsmith played Deus Ex and said it is not Cyberpunk (but he did like it).
It certainly lacks some of the style and flash associated with Cyberpunk, but it is a Dystopian setting.
With that being said, Deus Ex is one of my favorite games. It has left a strong legacy and its influence can be felt up to this day.

Deus Ex is not cyberpunk since Denton is working for the government. Which renders the entire game CyberCorpo or CyberGov if you want to nitpick. To be punk one must be rebelling against the gov or the corps and stealing their shit so you can survive another day. In other words, you have to be a runner or a cowboy that operates outside the law.

I missed this. I don't see how Reaganomics played a role in it since Cyberpunk originated with New Wave Sci-Fi of the 1960s and 1970s. Philip K. Dick published Do androids dream of electric sheep? in 1968. From 1962 till 1968, LBJ was in office. Nixon didn't get into office until 1969.

way closer to cyberpunk is 'the shockwave rider' by brunner from 1975, which has a cool pre-internet vision of the internet and phone phreaking type hacking. but that's really also proto-cyberpunk

There is nothing wrong per se with wanting to globalize the world. It's the most logical position for anyone who has learned about all the pointless wars of history, and sees (somewhat accurately) the human race as a bunch of violent monkeys on some speck of dust floating in space. Not to mention that this is a likely prerequisite for starting to colonize space.

The issues with it are:

1. It's one thing to have globalization as a gradual goal to aspire to, but it's another to shove it through at insane speed before various groups are ready for it. That's how you get let's say Euro countries flooded with immigrants from various backward nations, who start imposing aspects of their backward cultures on the locals which are not welcome.

2. The way the world is constructed, good things often lead to bad things. So while globalization is a good thing in many ways, it also makes us susceptible to the downsides of human nature much more that a more decentralized model. If you have a bunch of different nations, and one of them gets taken over by a horrible government, all the others are still ok and can counter it, but with a global government, if it turns bad (as every government in history at some point does), it's much more difficult to get rid of it.

I have actually been trying to familiarize my self a bit more with cyberpunk and similar subgenres recently. Like JamesDixon if you take a hardline stance the theme and setting is cyberpunk, but the character is not. Instead it is tech noir or cyber noir. Usually works like this like Ghost In The Shell gets classified as post cyberpunk, which to what I gathered is simply cyberpunk but has loosed the requirements of having a punk protagonist and also is accepting that technology could benefit humanity. Post cyberpunk being developed in the nineties where normal people started to interact with the modern internet and use computers in their daily life and thus making a lot of the 80s cyberpunk look hopelessly dated, archaic and a fantasy.

Deus Ex the first game may very well be one of the best works of fiction ever made regardless of genre. Its sequels.. not so much.

Did you guys know that Pondsmith says he was more influenced by Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams than by Neuromancer? I think the former is also up there with the best of the genre. I wouldn't let Pondsmith's opinion what makes a piece of media cyberpunk be of any guidance, anyways.

JamesDixon JCD is marginalized and working alone like 80% of the game, I wouldn't let his origins dissuade anyone from classifying DX as cyberpunk.

DX1 is about the best of the genre in computer gaming, but as people have pointed out, storywise alone it's nothing groundbreaking.

See folks this is your brain on drugs. Nowhere in my reply that he quoted did I say anything about William Gibson's work. What did Gibson do that added to the cyberpunk genre? He added netrunning. That's it. Gibson is influential, but he's not the father of cyberpunk.

I'll side with Mike Pondsmith on this one. He is the father of the Cyberpunk RPG and he says it's good sci-fi, but it's not cyberpunk.

Taking police people time = loss of man-power on the ground (2+people + vehicle) which can be good for your teams to get rid of them in area

They probably rarely get the chance - so them going back to HQ to realise you did nothing is a crap result and real time waster!

Baiting arrest to reduce their numbers can be good for those that don't mind arrest as a sure way (arrest only means temporarily taken - IT DOES MEAN you're guilty !!! )

So if you said very little from start then chances are your out after half a day and achieve the task of distraction / reducing their on-the-ground numbers).

Don't do anything too wild to get everyone in trouble, should be mostly an alone thing and "oh no why are you taking me?,,, ok let's go" almost :)

Otherwise "no comment" and carry on if you can in silence.

Ask "under what power do you state your actions?". They work for the community remember so see what they intend.

Asking question is if you really want to challenge police to act lawfully BUT THIS INVITES THEM TO CREATE BULLSHIT REASONS TOO so CONTINUE DON'T ASK UNTIL THEY GO FOR YOU PROPERLY or you want them to be distracted.

Like #ACAB suggests remember not to try convince them as it is literally time killing or anyway they chose that job / use it to put food on table so even good one's already know or can't admit it in front of their peers / workmates.

➡️ NO DUTY SOLICITOR: use a recommended solicitor with protest experience / protest solicitor if in real trouble or wanting to kill time.

Keep some cards as backup or even pretend to use them / distribute them if you want to pretend you're a big fish. Maybe this is bad if they detain you but at least you can use it to call them (it's not that bad to show you know some law people) and waste time or not - Having solicitor with experience over the phone might be better than working with police-given solicitor in some sense. Do ask the solicitor many questions about their capacity / how they work in that police station and then choose another solicitor!

For people who care (and maybe those more machine-minded people / Techies) it's important to see the many sidedness of things, of people, subject matters. Because many feel left out. You might also feel like you found your home but you might be moving further away from people which always isn't great long-term.

It's not just this or that, or about "efficiency" which is often mentioned almost like a kind of perfection or Indiana Jones "Holy Grail" worth dying / letting people die for.
Because anyway in humanity imperfection is baked in. Better to use it instead of go heavy expecting tech to save things (and it already has so I suggest it simply has limits and you move on to human growth more often as the 'work' like a kind of social improvement / communication as normal therapy for the rest of things).
Do continue some of what you do but WITH more people please.

Many things have many attributes which mean many feelings and perspectives to the many who see it. And care for things quite valid either way. I'm not talking about silly things but really what people care about should be considered more of a priority in reasoning.

Then there is overall the general why, the aim or overall priority with extra things but it helps to see the basics first sometimes to decide if humans are to count in the world and have 'nicer' equations to run after more than being being cut out by binary 1 or 0 choices or narrowing comparisons unfairly just because of time or even feelings that people want to cut out.

People host many things that can seem a burden but labelled as value suddenly turns the equation into something more for everyone. It may have it's limits BUT less people in community = no community and people without community almost literally die (inside and out) so if we're all too much into Tech or 1-sided viewing of life like "job" and that's it for my responsibility then diversity can be better (in moderation but again it's definitely not just job in life or needs fighting back against those that want to steal our time and use us like batteries in mono-work)

Tech and science people seem to not understand this one-sidedness (based on my conversations) and tend to want to skip this caring (call it talking) and skip the priority of building people USING people themselves!

In that mini or macro society - we need better people - NOT same-same / shitty people with tech.

Allowing for more than one truth or way-of-life to be ok is very important and several variations simply act as perspective to pehaps aappier survival or natural suffering to life we must endure but could do more friendlier... to further more good stuff to happen too- instead of trying to pipe it in a narrow medium (like text) and expect 'efficiency' to feel ok.

It's like a super-power to keep the dust off to communicate and care and accept "imperfect humans".

But I send reply now anyway as my own toot since it's gone as it had a good point not many might mention. So I'll take a few points and make it my own thread... (if you put the post back let me know and I'll add it there)

People are most measurably behind in the mind. And to say that Ukrainian's might be also, that can be hard for me to say, but apart from naturally being behind as humanity (or letting things slip in exchange for money, banks. gov etc) it's also that YES:

UKRAINIANS AND RUSSIAN MAY WELL BE SIMILAR AND THE SAME... (assimilated)

It's also a case of "one looks better that the other" in terms of oppressor and weaker person but on other terms there is a rolling history and "just another leader" timeline (like a boss in a company that suddenly comes in) and in this template anyone can come along and do similar things in the past (which quite all countries did or didn't know how to give power to it's people to conquer this major re-occurrence and only defended it's land to oppress the people... again)....

It's not easy either as anyone just coming into life has the previous rolling crap to deal with as a 'system' (way of cheating people or imposing an original idea ⬅️ many ways to see it but ultimately uncaring EVERYWHERE )

So like a leaning tree nobody want to straighten or hold up, it just keeps leaning towards the same things - so it's also made up of the same type of dynamics (largely people don't doing anything or not to the end to say it's unacceptable for any war or heavy extraction as cruelty and false freedoms- and with actually caring nothing can be built on top of that)

Ukrainians are Russian-ish... And so are many elsewhere - but you're right to point to language, habits, assimilating for so long next to each other...

Just people/humanity are very much behind and still letting things slip despite the lessons...
