@volkris I read my reply again and perhaps wasn't worded or in paragraph order but I like the idea we as pairs of people or small groups can do our own thing and use whatever we do like (rather than wait or hate on what was made before)... Peace...

@volkris I believe I hear you but what I hear above that is someone of that kind of person waiting for tech or others to do the social work... is what is almost impossible, We / you can only do that mostly and the customisation of that experience.

That's what I hear above whatever you hate (which there is plenty truth to complain about not doubting you) BUT who is actually not waiting for tech to do it and doing it more personally as much as all the other stuff ?

You are here for example (and my thanks for that) but not waiting for the system or tech created / pumped by the rich to "change" !

! No way - not waiting on that to happen ! Very low chance, those rich already chose and we have it.

Has to be #1to1 or #p2p or something more than a great forum style engine like #Mastodon (we had 20 years ago with #phpBB or #ICQ etc and earlier things) - we are STILL mostly just #1way mode-ing and that is also ok until it's only just 1-way or just a lot of the people on Trump hashtags INSTEAD of ourselves (I can see their profiles - is full on him, like a #fan page even in the hate!).

So I'm against that consumption of time (my last few posts on my profile I hope shows that well with a clock of Trump on the face showing time and media we give him by doing so)... people are not spending even their free time with others.

More machine time and cold Tech people, highly skilled people Cold normal / other people... isn't enough practise.

The Tech mismach and work not being done produces a one-legged / tech-minded society (maybe money with it too because they base their life on it) and human projects break because of that inability (not just loving your own family for example) and make it often a big waste of time withOUT the human sides / practices together...

We could to perhaps join forces / "make friends" with the world - all at the same time as all the same old money-pumped tech) but most want to talk to machines...

Tech has it's limit to empower people - YOU empower me and I empower - without either of those ping pong there is not much of a #pingpong game or building of light trust or #empowerment of either of us.

So please think to #empower me and others while on Social and follow others like me rather than Trump posts...

That dedication and time attention is what adds up better...

@d1 There is the nice style of laughter too, where it's in appreciation or feeling warm to the other - though hard to distinguish in defeat by the other.
But yeah the haha in your face isn't nice, but depend on situation I guess...

True to say I'm aiming for more but understand how social is today more towards venting / not so much deep diving / self-solving the actual "social" itself... !

Think I wrote plenty before to that effect and appreciate your use case and happy it works for you in that form, while plenty of improvement to be harnessed (also as people AND instances forging friendships themselves too!).

I like the sentence "If other people see what I write, great! If not, that's OK too." :)

Maybe it's time to move on from Social being almost all about Trump GOP USPol hashtags consuming time. Although some is needed, we're not building each other up or developing internally by spending time there... (just saying people's timeline is too full of that stuff and even spinning for them their own web while we're stuck and stunting in our web / social growth)

Yes about the #USPol (I think it's best not to get mixed up and provide something that builds us between ourselves - even if we look and post about post trump musk bezos etc.

Fediverse needs to self-grow something better else just be a better Twitter with people who still don't know how to learn to love each other / communicate etc...

Yeah I agree and my approach with most people is to "filter out" the good people / keep the matching people more often (even though I think all can play a part) so even though talking is nearly non-existent, people can move on and simply try another person if they know they can... which means even with "1 in million chance" or "10 in a billion" we still might be able to get 10 and 1 or 2 trickling through constantly... but the way to filter in I think is the problem always (word of mouth / friends and family talking might be more real for people).

Not a perfect way or covering everyone but accepting enough to do with a few people and see if they are similar / matching / accepting in many ways. Else just say "thanks for the chat" and that's it.

I think a good enough system would help the human side as a way or web interface for #Jitsi to say "this is an open chat 25hours a day" to make it easier for people to talk and say "next!" / make other chat rooms from that...

I agree it's not just algorithms to blame and not easy - I think it's quite the same here on Mastodon too with even the best people chasing the tails of #privacy #tech etc - because as worthy as it is it's STILL not a lot of building of community and NOT PERSONAL -

e.g. #Mastodon could actively organise chats in Jitsi but doesn't and leaves people to their untrained state of theirself or think socialising is sending cat pictures on #Caturday... so it's a nice engine but not improving people by much when it could daily / month / yearly (at least!)

Wasted talents we are and not even working together as much!

If developing human communication is not for tech people then that's what we have! (I think today that's true, great tech, #undeveloped / #under-developed people).

@sproid @itsalark @ebel I think the internet is perfect for talking about anything because it's from distance and has both parts of what Sproid said of feeling sometimes like we are being challenging AND being attacked - AND WE NEED THAT

In the healthy way we can manage personally this as a kind of listening circle team... and 1 to 1 / organised-random.

Challenging and Attacking are basically the more forward-thinking way and win for everyone which might feel lose-lose until we learn better together and even MAKE more places to chat and generally talk until we feel comfortable, almost anonymously too (why not).

This helps the real talking come out and not gated state places in it for the money to 'help' people...

#Jitsi is perfect for talking.
I recommend audio-only as it has enough humanity in that speaking / listening and practise to improve one or both sides)
