Adding Disclaimer to IS MUCH CLEARER about scraping consent... (regardless of what big companies do or don't ignore)

Please add:

🚨 "No consent given for commercial usage or data anywhere on or from QOTO, including scraping/using/processing anything in any way. You must get express consent from each and every user personally for such permission or data usage." 🚨

(The above topics was from a post before to Freemo and qoto.org/@freeschool/112868647 that I saw worth re-writing again and re-considering, more than complaining when it happens and when we don't write anything on the wall about them scraping / *raping us).

* RAPING = Destroy and strip of its possession

(so as 2nd meaning, "raping" its not far from un-consented sex as it is destroying / stripping us)

The original post was moaning a bit but wasn't asking for the moon in this point 1/ and I couldn't see why it would not make sense (even trivially / aesthetically) to added SOMETHING about consent and asking individual users first to scrape them.

❓ Like why would it even be bad? ❓

"What they do Freemo is not what we're only looking at. We also have to do our bit and say about / try protect QOTO and say so to those others 'this' is what we do and don't want- IF they ignore it or not that's on them.

Us telling them is our responsibility and sign on the door THEY DO NOT HAVE CONSENT.

I don't understand people who don't mention things because "they will do it anyway" - surely this is bad logic and even encouraging them.

To complain after without saying is fucked up. The fact that that massive companies are ignoring things is BAD but THIS KIND OF LOGIC IS BAD too.

It's terribly bad to mention "rape" or extreme words but it might jolt the logic in people that YOU HAVE TO SAY NO TO BEING MOLESTED TOO, (a poor example but logic is same - say no first, not after or stay silent).

Anyone looking back in time will just say "They never actually expressed their dissatisfaction or did any effort to repel such a thing!" or not ,

"There's nothing there to suggest they even cared!" they might say

Being clear helps a the whole know it's happening too.

So yes it does count freemo and have value to users - we're not just looking only at what they do - but how we express and conduct things. So please add...

I'm messaging you because of mixed reasons - not all bad but it seems that many of the people included here want(ed) more as many of us have been posting about or around things - some solved but many around the Fediverse also itself.

I've personally seen how it's going too... also having talked to @freemo (many month before now and un-responded) and asking for more (even without his help directly but under his and our own watchful eyes to do *something*)... Again not all his fault and also about my wants and other people's with just social / Federation rules by others / not being blocked etc...

So I'm seeing a few more people talk about EXPORTING out and I also was thinking and why I included you all... Freemo has often done great and a stellar job in communicating with people on his instance but it was a bit patchy and did need branching out / enabling other somehow (a bit like fans running the band's website or at least helping themselves through the root / music band's website / QOTO).

Anyway I have a lot of energy still but after seeing a few comments about other people BLOCKING or similar (and my friend also creating a Mastodon.Social account and not able to see my posts) means we have to solve this somehow... maybe having two accounts? I don't know (I'm also seeking your help here).

Checking hashtag makes some of this clear about people's intentions or direction so I hope we can crowdsource and help ourselves if Freemo is often out of communication or at least this level... or just life... We have to find a way...

Not sure about leaving totally as it's "their fault" and not all QOTO (though a lot of what I want and what any social needs is direct investment and building people in itself, not just the storage resources and Techies)...

But anyway... a few words for you all. No harm intended.

is broken even worse than I thought. Replies don't go through to other instances. Why not open another - new qoto instance of old qoto? It will be cool to have 2 qoto instances anyway - one big and one small for those wishing for more quiet small place.

And I feel immediately that I need to work with people like this (or find something to do together) because communication is the root of almost everything / all work, and anything is possible from there...

Even if not totally the same - there is still a lot to do and enjoy, a lot of which we do alone and could do together more often.

So if you can find something in my profile, perhaps also how or what I communicate, then please get in touch.

I'm happy to talk about anything (or even say why not more clearly than most). All can be good between good people.

@rootwyrm Sure I believe you (without you even stating what it was) but this is the long-burn work that some get it immediately and some don't - and either way from the minute you said it, it take time... At least he has reach and it's better than nothing / something now... (and not all on either of you completely - a reflection the rest of us we're not as fast or you'/our way of disseminating / implementing isn't on point enough - so that the work I see).

If for example people *actually talked* (audio conversations) and not just 1-way text or even 2-way I think people would feel that audible MUCH MORE than text which everyone has been doing for far too long and too 1-way by nature of cold / misunderstood text or simply the non-humanness of it.

Those are my coins in the tin - See for more answers (e.g. "developing people not just tech!" - "we have too much tech, it's now about people understanding / cooperating more from more diverse fields") ...
