I wonder if #AndrewYang and friends are thinking about the number of independents in trying to make their new political party. My sense is that the effort will be largely pointless thanks to the collusion of Dems and the GOP, but also I don't think independents necessarily have anything that ties them together.
@thatguyoverthere @SuperDicq nah, the knowledge that he could fall and break his nose are any moment is part of what gives him his edge
also, I think they could improve the pacing or editing: their wrap-up on this episode was way longer than it needed to be, and there was no need to include the convo about coming up with a title--as a JJGo listener, I can appreciate an extended bit, but it needs to be at least somewhat funny ...
I wish they would cut all the talk about their alcohol consumption from this #science #podcast. As someone who doesn't drink and has no interest in alcohol production, whenever they launch into that it just immediately turns me off 😐

@Seangarian that, I can play. to be honest though, I barely register changes in semitones at that pitch--I can tell it's different but ...🤷♂️
thanks for sharing though! this idea of when you can substitute chords still melts my brain right now, but I understand it a bit the way you explain it
@Seangarian 何!you think my fingers are made out of rubber, eh?
I can sort if play that, but it takes me at least 5 seconds to configure my fingers that way. it doesn't sound any type of way to me.
@Seangarian I don't know what "adding the 9" means. This is my first instrument and I know very little so far
Cm7 is my new favorite #ukulele chord. I've mostly played around on the first two frets as I'm learning, but here's a reason to explore a little further.
these kids sure hit a growth spurt in their "one year" before joining the cadets training corps. lol
so, I missed attack on Titan when it first came out (typical, "I don't like this because it's popular," bullshit I engaged in at the time). how's this turn out? it's pretty melodramatic, but I only enjoy that in a comedy. is this a "humans were the real monsters all along" thing? or are the Titans some extended metaphor about... natural disasters maybe?
@barefootstache no and no clue, but really dry, I guess
@freemo , as a scuba diver what's your view of saturation driving? is it like, "if the money was good and I had the training, I could see doing that" or more like, "that's pretty out there/that wouldn't be worth the risks"?
"multi-million dollar Australian app used to track Covid contacts has been decommissioned and branded 'a failure' after identifying only two unique infections"
@barefootstache really? love learning stuff like this--knowing there are folks that have thought thru the such emergency scenarios.
re the glasses and reading lights, the exceptions aren't a problem if the measures work in favor of staging lives in aggregate. plus that has to be weighed against upsetting travelers
