Ok so it rained. A lot of mizzle that gets you wet through. But it was perfect. The sea was exceptionally cold on my feet. Gormley’s Another Place got to me emotionally far more than I was expecting. The sight and sound of the sea was as restorative as it always is. And I had an amazing vegan lunch at a nice pub.

Never used Budgie, am using .

I appreciate the advice and will follow up your links. As a committed hopper, I have used , , etc but as a long time User, I am used to speed on older hardware.

This morning, I was on two different versions of Puppy. I was able to look at a PDF of how my server was assembled. In the past I would self build myself but glad I did not this time.

Manjaro comes with . I may end up using LAMP, as Hiawatha has discontinued development

Been looking inside my Server. I likes hardware.

It is all interesting but much more time consuming than I expected.

Manjaro protects me from my own stupidity AND on the whole I use the installer whenever possible.

I will prevail. Thanks again :lobster:

Using my new superpower of being kind to computers, I entered my new desktop and started to use some of the terminal/cli/command line possibilities from a . I felt like I was a power user. I am not a power user of course. I am a perpetual Linux beginner. However it felt good. I even poweroffed by typing "poweroff". I also killed some orphans. However not quite sure what they are in Linux Parseltongue.

I am still looking out for a simple way to create a home server, after my disastrous efforts to use a hosting service to run a mastodon instance/server.

Anyway more as it happens. For now food time ...

Day 30 of my recumbent ebike build: Ordered tools to open up the motor and fix that clicking sound.

Fixed the pedal assist. I needed to set the cycle analyst to use 2-wire PAS encoding. Prior to that, PAS would only kick in when I was going below 5 mph. Weird!

Went on a couple rides today. Average efficiency is under 4 wh/mi (2.5 wh/km). That’s way better than I expected!

With that, I consider this build finished (for now)! Thanks for all the encouragement and feedback!
