“Why my code isn't in TypeScript”

> I even pay for CoPilot, almost exclusively, to explain TypeScript errors to me
I genuinely appreciate this use case for an LLM, I really do, but what does it say about TypeScript that the only comprehensible error explanations are from prose summaries statistically derived from modelling millions of lines of similar code?
Nothing good. I can tell you that.

Now the private funded US mission has... Fallen over!

programmers are always posting like "worked on tracking down an issue with a Flurble deployment for twelve hours. it turned out the problem wasn't in Flurble at all - it was in the Gumbies install. It turns out if you install Gumbies 3.0 over Gumbies 2.7 and don't do a cache flush on all the client spiders they'll get stuck in the crystal maze." then you look up Gumbies and the site is one of those scroll scroll scroll types with one sentence per page, like
"GUMBIES is a lean, expressive sharding sandcube for testing and deploying large scale Woodchips playgrounds.
GUMBIES automates and streamlines away watersliding phases, meaning your team can get right to the chipping.
See why Microsoft, OpenAI and Bloingo have embraced GUMBIES in their Woodchips workflows."
I just upgraded the #QOTO DB server to x2 the CPU. This seems to fix the underlying issue. The pull queue (not related to most things) is now recovering as well.
Since that last tweak our Queue has went from 1.2 million backlog down to 0.9 million and continues to decrease.
We are also setting up a mechanism that should allow me to speed up the process further soon, but either way for now we are still on track to be back to caught up soon. At that point hopefully all functionality will be restored (I found a few issues and fixed them). If not we can start addressing any remaining problems at that time.
Mother of pearl clouds in Norway
They are also called stratospheric clouds. This is a very rare phenomenon that occurs mainly in polar latitudes at abnormally low temperatures.

Anyway: that’s why I think the import of today’s news is bigger than just “Apple adopted some post quantum algorithms.” As exciting as that is for us cryptographers. //fin
#QOTO update.
So I went to bed last night and work up to find the sidekiq workers were backlogging and we have 800K backlogged jobs. It was due to a misconfiguration that I have now fixed and it appears the backlog is quickly resolving itself.
If you noticed any weirdness this should be resolved int he next few hours as the backlog clears.
@hesgen It is not normal for the fediverse or QOTO. In fact it is the first time we have had downtime of more than 5 minutes since our founding something like 5+ years ago.
I did make multiple posts (over 4) in the weeks leading up to it that the migration was happening when it was and that the downtime would be significant. I also made one post from the QOTO account itself.
This was a very major move to entirely new architecture (from bare metal to a scalable docker swarm like the rest of our services). This move was done to give us easier control over beta testing and updating. This is in preparation of about 6 updates we have to do in short order, all of which should be able to occur with minimal downtime due to the migration to the new infrastructure. It will also allow us to scale.
Please keep in mind while we are backup redis is reindexing so it should be slow for a short while.
#QOTO is back up.
Please keep in mind #QOTO will need quite a few hours to handle the backlog from downtime. Tomorrow we are going to split out the workers so they can begin using the scaling. So tomorrow this should be fixed. For the next 24 hours expect things to be a bit slow and uploading pictures probably wont work until we fix that.
Give it 24 hours and hopefully things will be back to normal at that time.
Sorry everyone on #QOTO for the extended downtime. It was a massive migration to entirely new infrastructure. It will allow us to apply the 6 updates we have ready that we wrote with minimal future down time. Will also allow us to scale dynamically.
After we check that everything is working ok post-migration we will start applying updates in a beta environment everyone can test before we move updates to mainline. This should prevent all future downtime.
For the record this is the first time we had downtime of more than 5 minutes since the founding of QOTO over 5 years ago. So this is not normal for the server.
#Godot Engine Showreel
#QOTO is back after a long migration in the first stage of our upgrade. Now that we are on a new home we will give it 24 horus to see if the move was bug free (As it seems to be) and then we will start upgrading versions one at a time day by day.. The upgrades are prepared and ready and should be **much** quicker.
The move took a while as we keep a backlog of every message to the start of the fediverse so our media and DB stores are quite large and it took a long time. But we are back!!!
