So seems the upgrade went ok, a few small issues we should have fixed up pretty quick. Here are the broad points.
* This was our first big move over to an entirely new architecture meant for quick upgrades with no down time. Ironically this meant a 2 day down time but the advantage is future upgrades should have very minimal downtime now.
* We Did 5 upgrades in one go, lots of new features as a result, mostly all the new stuff from mastodon combined with the features QOTO already had.
* The new setup was having some 503 errors at first, and it was a out of memory issue. We have since significantly boosted our resources. The system is now much faster and responsive.
Some issues that remain, and when we will have it fixed:
* There are a few small UI issues, the link to your own profile points to the wrong link, and the "local timeline" link is missing to bring it up. We should have those back in place very shortly (probably a day or two).
* There were 503 issues periodically but it should now be fixed, please let me know if anyone sees a 503 again.
* Editing posts in place (instead of delete & edit) now works but it is missing from the menu, so we need to add that.
* Translation features should also be in place, but lacks the link.
If anyone notices any other issues message @freemo . In the meantime give us a day or two and we should have these small issues all resolved, thanks.
I just realized this also makes QOTO a W3C member since its part of my new company and non-profit...
I wonder if #QOTO is the only fediverse server that is an official member of the W3C, if so that would be cool.

@freemo that's an interesting hypothesis. While maybe not always the case, that 20% overlap is indeed suspicious of just being some kind of cyclic adhd-c.
I came tot he conclusion because I always thought i had some form of extremely mild BD, but doctors said no... then iw as reading the subtypes of ADHD and saw that the two subtypes resembled my own cycles where id be in one subtype or the other depending on the day (cycles over months), and then that got me thinking so i started doing research and found that there is a lot of overlap.
I am fairly convinced 100% of BD is just an extension of ADHD, just if we are talking Type II is a particularly extreme form.
Hot take... Bipolar Disorder (as well as its milder cousin Cyclothymia) is just a subtype of ADHD, not its own separate disease. It is essentially where a person with ADHD cycles through ADHD-I (Inattentive subtype) and ADHD-HI (Hyperactive/Impulsive subtype). Essentially the ADHD-I is mistaken for the depressive phase and ADHD-HI is mistaken for the manic phase.
The various evidence supporting this:
* There is medical evidence suggesting a close genetic overlap between the two diseases.
* There is a very strong comorbidity with 20% of people with ADHD also having some form of BD
* The symptoms of each type closely resemble the characteristics of each pole of BD, so they are easily mistaken for eachother.
@olives I found the problem i think. Our system admin is fixing it, should take about 24 hours to have th next fixes in.
I dunno, I mean Harris is doing better than Trump, just because how can you not with a lunatic like that. But I'd hardly say she is doing great, about the only thing she has working for her is her opponent is shit.

Watching Kamala on 60 Minutes from earlier this evening. She is not capable of handling the interview and does not appear to be capable of being president. (On the other hand Trump, who we know was a terrible president, chickened out). It was the right thing to replace Biden, but Harris was the wrong replacement.
If we are talking about Harris in isolation, well I agree. She is a horrible choice, better than Biden, but one of the weaker Democrat choices overall. We could have done way better.
That said, comparing her to Trump well.. Trump is a laughing stock screaming in debates about immigrants eating dogs while we all laugh at him, he acts like a complete lunatic.
The only thing Harris actually has going for her is that the person on the other side somehow manages to be as bad, maybe worse, than her.
As you wish, no problem... we actually have edit-in-place as a new feature but its missing as a link from the UI.. so thats also something were fixing as we speak.
#1 is due to backlog from when we were down, now that we are caught up they should go away.
#2 known issue we are fixing. It is due to a broken link, if you click your name ont he left side above the edit field it will be wrong, but if you click your name anywhere else it will be correct. Simple fix we will roll out soon.
#3 That was due to us having our resources set for the old version,b ut resource usage changed dramatically. As of earlier today we reallocated our workers (smaller machines but many more of them) and this issue appears to have went away, the system is more responsive as a result.
UPDATE: nvm i just saw a 500, its likely our load balancer, let me at that now.
#4 appears to be just a missing link issue o some kind. If you used to have the local timeline up it will still be up. But if it isnt up the physical link appears to just be missing. Easy fix ill have them on that right away.
#5 that is intentional, as I've stated before the upgrade needs to finish and then we will renable it (or else the updates would take weeks instead of a day). as for your comments about 4.x not sure what your talking about, there is no 4.x of QOTO, Why would you think our next version would be a major number bump rather than a minor number bump? It sounds like you are confusing us with Mastodon, their versions and our versions arent related its different software.

I was out and about yesterday walking through Philly and open carrying (picture for reference). For the first time i had to walk through about a dozen cops all standing around talking. I figured one of them might say something, but nope, not even a suspicious glare.

@olives Well you have to actually click ont he button that shows the feed, a hard refresh alone wouldnt show it if it isnt currently displayed. Same as with all the columns.
