@arh@mstdn.io That rule is worth discussing, but not exactly the same. If i own a house I should have every right to decide who is allowed to use it or not within certain limits. If you look suspicious as a renter I should probably be able to not rent to you. That said it is problematic and I think is worth some criticism as well. It does seem problematic and I'm not sure I know a good solution.

We obviously agree on gun ownership.

@frankie I dont think so, or at least I have yet to find any provisions for that in my searching

@frankie No article (though a google search will come up with plenty). Its the new redflag law whereby background checks can no intrusively review your psychiatric history and reject your access to guns based on that.

Essentially if you are having psychological issues under no circumstances would you want to actually seek help now as it would get your flagged and you may not be able to exercise your right to gun ownership.

Thanks to biden you can now officially loose fundamental constitutionally enshrined rights by seeking psychiatric help..

This is probably one of the most dangerous laws passed in my lifetime and remarkably both sides are ok with it.

@hans It will be my first time in the maldives. Diving is allowed but not tech diving. I will be diving for most of the vacation hopefully

Looks like my vacation was just extended to 4 weeks. I decided on the maldives

@trinsec Nah, americans are too rich for that shit.. anyone too poor to spend half the year vacationing dies in a few weeks anyway.

@Pat I did but i have to leave the country for them to get my work visa. And its EVP & CIO

I have 2 days to plan and leave for a 3 week vacation....

@Pat I dunno, changing things after 50 years or more and trying to fix the past is generally a good thing.

In this case however it is debatable if they fixed a mistake as opposed to making one. Personally I dont think the court ever had the right to make the ruling in the first place, but we should have had this codified in an amendment instead.
