Its not a version info. Our version isnt really an indication anymore of if its up to date with vanilla since we diverged in features and now pull in patches piece meal.
In all liklihood they moved to a whitelist server or a server that blocks a large portion of the fediverse, including us. So they arent able to migrate because the server they are migrating to likely blocked them from doing so.
The server they moved to doesnt publicly list blocks, which is usually a good indication they have a massive block list they want to hide so as not to discourage new users.

Also, you think thats bad. He at one point made his entier instance blocked our whole server and basically called me a Nazi because of conversations like this one... The cringe was exceptional.

If you want anything that can behave like a mx record we have txt records for that.. use it however you want and rewrite mastodon.. its all good :) but thats not how its built now.
Yes you are correct of course, dns is for any service. You are missing the point though. The point is so your mail service can point to a different location than your main service on the domain in question. I still dont think you know what your really asking for, though perhaps I dont either.

Oh in that case I think he is talking about favorite hashtags, you can create them and they show in the menu.. you can also subscribe to a hashtag (so it shows in your home feed).. you can also create columns dedicated to hashtags
all of the above are unique features on QOTO. Different ways of doing similar things.
