ℹ️ You can export a JSON file with code and text of posts but not even sure what happens to media downloaded, maybe just a flat folder but not tied to any post or need some tool to reform it all and link it,,,

Too complicated / asking too much / some people don't want non-Fediverse account.

Mastodon could let people suggest using #suggestions or an account to let someone filter - not expecting people to get a GIT account always...

I know hashtag or account might be abused but just change hashtag from time to time or at least try a way / use captcha / make only 1 day of the week for it!!

The extension features an option to enable or disable redirection.

I wish I could pick and choose features in Mastodon instead of worry for asking for features and perhaps getting upgrades that might change other things too much.

● So to make posts self-destructive for example would make for a lot of clarity and even save some space.

I could set a default expiry time (especially if it didn't involve upgrading Mastodon to change existing requirements - like a plugin or just checkbox to enable feature).

● I think newer Mastodon's have this but haven't see screenshot -

Making Public Timeline presentation of each profile better is the aim here,.

People hiding their shit replies from main timeline to leave their best ones... even after a week could help see the best stuff

Users could go around deleting and pruning timeline from time to time but really setting it from beginning makes sense as that is time *you know* your message is not meant to last...

They also think that Bluesky will be able to post nasty stuff to everyone, even those who aren't connected to anyone on Bluesky.

They think the same about Threads, because in their heads, they're still on Twitter where the secret-sauce algorithm would probably allow for that to happen.

The inevitable cloning / copying of this new data access point (people themselves, you and others) to their servers with auto-consent almost, for speed or [insert your whatever corporate reasoning here] and the natural expectation and expectable worry like this built-in.
Other fediverse are not interested in this stuff and certainly not to this level. Totally different big fishes [Facebook, Twitter style stuff I mean common].

Using whatever they can/want without the same spirit of Fediverse like we have now is a big problem (totally different as server and politics)...

The federation is being invaded / diluted out of existence or even education of what's proper as we kinda get overwhelm and inevitably concede positions as it's too costly to manage...
Imagine growing more caringly (people understand what they sign up to in Fedivser) vs. mass and being distracted by mass media mainstream stuff (not just content but effect of big-players in the background).
Like people say 'which server' and 'just join facebook/threads/tiwtter' we also lose smaller recommendations and niches/nuances with those choosing more carefully their community and supporting smaller Fediverse hubs.

It's not too harsh a line and like 'self-trojan horsing' can come to mind no so far later down the line if you accept this. I would be surprised if they started copying straight away and 'collect them all'.

So "copy this data of mine" y/n will also be a totally corporate company decision... they control their side - if it was your company you'd do the same unless limited or no business was accepted there... Via a bridge the rules will be quite different... so this is a different question to any kinds of option about it.

Like people willing to make business but will take it easy at first... it's the same thing happening with monetisation and privacy everywhere... Almost people can't help it no matter what they say now...

🔔 then click bell 🔔 button which appears only after follow is accepted.

█Instant notifications means posts are not piled up so much or lost in 100's of other follows- buried in the timeline... they are more of a priority or valued seeing the pop up and disappear quite discreetly and without interaction needed with popup.

█Then when bored go to browse timeline for the other people you probably have forgotten or don't have time for!

█So this way you read 1 by 1 as it pops up for a few seconds on screen, and ignore or reply. This helps considering replying in the now sense and not later.

█No need catch up later so much, read now and while people need each other / don't want to forget !
