"Digital archiving as we know it would not exist without the Internet Archive—without it, the world would lose its best public resource on internet history."

Trying to recall details about a long-gone podcast (RIP #Dailysonic), I started looking through various pages using @internetarchive's Wayback Machine. There's a unique thrill in unearthing info long gone from the surface web, but what really gives me chills is finding forum posts and comments with my old username. It's like chasing a digital ghost and catching a glimpse. It reminds me of how much I've changed and how much remains the same.

#VanishingCulture is exactly how I feel in EVERY LANGUAGE and CULTURE

@internetarchive Being sterilized by / seems to be the case EVERYWHERE when they are pushing / pumping out it's own culture to overwhelm / re-write all others intentionally (for example probably not going after any more so hard because we download + watch them more than other culture's works, which is still a win for them)...

is exactly how I feel in EVERY LANGUAGE and CULTURE right now...

Felt that for a long time...

Even "our own" English language as a " " today is going... erm down the drain... lol... I guess ?

The vicious bland circles... reducing culture brutally. all the everyone copied / installed / imposed wordwide...

Mastodon will never be the next big thing, and that’s why I’m on Mastodon.

Turn #humanity around manually 🔁 to grow ourselves 💗 🧠 💪

@mapache Boosted the post about / more but either way I think we can turn around manually 🔁 rather than -and via by *literally* do it yourself 'human' help and even repair which involves talking individually and without assist tech.

As basic as 'us' as the communication (text, image, audio/voice and lastly video when really needed or covers points) to limit the tech an make sure any other tech doesn't take us the wrong way while ''.

For example I think your bot idea (also in this thread / post
hachyderm.io/@mapache/11346638) is a nice enough idea but highlights the feel-good stories NEED to be used in a circle to feel good and offer ourselves as the human witness living it and whatever number in that circle 2-5 can hold value / breed more circles of their own once they get the hang of it...

Now that we have 3-clicks-and-in type technology, typing any username to talk, means anyone can join (no account or reg etc) and I think we can report on each other enough for trust to grow from 2+.

To "counterbalance negativity" we need ourselves - but so far very little amounts of people on can go past being asked to do that themselves even though if they believe either in themself and 1 other, that is really enough to keep things multiplying everything they can between them...

Are you interested? How do you feel about this?

Why do scandal and tragedy tend to go more viral than heartwarming tales if most human interactions are positive? It's because fear, not warmth, grabs our attention more, hence it's what sells and attracts clicks and views. Fear brings money.

Ugh, fear helps elect the worst people.

ChatGPT is a human conversation simulator, not an information system or a knowledge base (?)

@cdarwin @bibliolater I like all the sentences Chuck but a small thing to consider...

"Information system and knowledge base" it is possibly - even if it's a from a side connected / attached thing...

So yes "only outputs plausible responses" and similar, but kind becomes high enough as guesses to 'help' give potential set of answers to people (while them) - so while I'm not support it, I'm just saying towards helping bridge this to the casual user maybe something different in that first line or somehow differently as people do get "information' and "knowledge" from it... and will accept even 75% or whatever accuracy if they think they can spot errors or choose... and even users help correct / perfect it so it will get better... (again without agreeing with it I'm thinking purely factually)

Actually many things could be called info system / knowledge base similar to any I.T connected thing, while true to what you say we use them (search engine etc) and users as sources also blurs all that too...

The danger is also the people behind ChatGPT which we don't even see faces of or what they do with all this input. We need to see them / their products are all people either way and mention

- the tech exploits people by by accepting inputting search terms or looking at their look-ups / work data all the same time to mine them and like a / type 'assistant' which at the same time 'assists' the owners and THEIR systems to find our data and more about you the u$er...

Some people don't mind or even fuel things if it gets them ahead in _some_ ways... and I know anti- people even using it which is like the forever-strange thing - but people go for I guess when it's given in such a easy to access input box....

Thoughts welcome...

@Uair Looks good at first glance, as long as an unconditional basic income ensures that the obligation to work is abolished!

==============
BUT.... the last bit in that post (similar to Henry Ford) is sadly untrue for today's people...
==============

" If people knew what was really going on, there'd be an uprising and things would change.

from my living test of people (most of my life from high school, ranging from parents, teachers (outside of school and when older today) and getting better as I go saying the same thing here even on Fediverse) people do not even confirm / acknowledge or confront it.

The literally live with it regardless and even say "I know but..." and say things like "got to eat / my children / etc etc" without seeing all is written off and into hell without trying to bend the bad tree of life (banks) back to something straighter even if there is no 1-shot kill.... but people aren't even interested to work on that even though it devalues their whole life and work... even some answered that it's the children that have to deal with it hence the same vicious loop that and other students rightly take into their own hands as honestly the excuse not to even think about this daily is part of bent-ness of life and even supports it but deliberately ignoring such big elephant in room...

TLDR = PEOPLE KNOW - THEY ARE COWARDS / CAN'T FACE TO CHANGE COMFORT AS SUCH A COST AND DEVALUE FACTOR TO EVERYONE USING DEBT TO 'GROW' LIFE (False numbers / false loans).

See my other recent posts or hashtags similar, thanks.

@Perspective Just checking this question:

Q: Then they haven't got it?
A: No.

⬆️ Do you mean to answer:
"Yes they haven't got it"
"No they haven't got it"
"No to the answer"

And maybe explain what you mean to make sure. Thanks

Fascism is already here (?) and all people support it (?) (willing or not ?)

@freemo @selea Ok freemo you just 'struck' gold there for me as I was just thinking of and about to draw (perhaps more likely when we talk about it) about that... and "what it takes for fascism" basically to grow in diagram.

Because it's already here and wouldn't take much to take over since people are so embedded and feeding so much already from the underlying uncaring / financial people (banks as root of all life).

Perhaps we could both draw something (and maybe support the other) which also ties in the other question I asked yesterday before you had to run out the door (and you asked for reminder about that so here's that also!)

So it means for me that even if people wanted to, they would find it hard not to feed / go with because of existing things like:

a) their existing habits, savings and consumptions from who they don't know they are dealing with in longer chains 🏦 Banks and being able to see what negative maths is doing to populations.

b) all life so based on banks that this is possibly the basis of almost all fascism [based on the of wanting more back than given AND re-loaning people's savings, up to 9/10 times, which is the erroneous maths / injustice (to / / not just ) each time by a .

People need to try 'find' that loan in form of their energy (chopping away at nature for example) to replace the debt given as loans - so want back more and then that that debt or all money is meanwhile is being re-loaned again erroneously / as injustice / in equality continues to all people. The loan itself is one of the weaponised tools since normally one can't magically re-loan 9:1 anything and get such power / energy back from people and once you start negative-directed maths, it's hard to stop when attached to life itself .

So it is false power that Banks have from Government as authoritarian / hierarchical group opposed to things anywhere near democrasy / libertarianism etc and therein the power is maintained based on that way of injustice / reloaning and similar tools given to people after already trapping them in the worse of games.

It's the normal things people do / take blind eye to as they don't understand fascism or why it's always coming back over and over again, and in end-games the same similar positions happen (such as police again public, banks and government forcefully re-claiming money in people's etc, remotely controlling numbers / inflation / fees etc)...

Fascism in all it's black and white is like binary numbers and ultimatums...

And for the people, is most certainly a sacred thing to most who even unknowingly protect fascism or the bad game as their life ultimately (or as ultimatum 🔫 ) falls back on finance, which mostly 'gives' it for it's empire to grow from banks devaluing and diluting the money (from day 1 of paying for any money and over time).,

Financial-fascism is the method and people behind what is opposed to equality and equalising class not just democracy or liberalism with it :nes_fire:

@freemo Fascinating - I am like speechless in a good way. Good stuff...

The question before this is in this thread also + link to it below to go direct - is titled:

"Debt and Inflation in society devalues us and our future... "

...a deliberate "mission impossible" for society to live up to?

Thanks

@ashleyspencer The soup as a drink to toast is a bit original - but it is the truth about having soup today!... I know the rest might not help but feels like we're all getting nearer than most people regarding 2-way conversation (don't let the 'social' in Mastodon 'social' fool you, many are one way 'broadcasting' which is ok and a type of 'normal' that I hope changes).

@thankfulmachine Almost something worth checking ourselves as to why before even allowing them to potentially 'fix' it (if it was deliberate in the first place)... I don't see a reply from them

@freemo Oki,,, actually I wondered something that came to me almost like an arrow...

You said you're "forgetful" but could it be actually you're 'short-termed' and something else related to methodology? (See below for idea but failing this say how you feel with these points in mind)...

1/ maybe it's more that you are 'short-termed' or 'first thing visible / brought to my attention' as the more accurate way to say it... perhaps if you find yourself needing to be directed to the next urgent thing often or just message? basically all is urgent or important but you're doing the most urgent-and-most reminded / people-connected things first?

2/ You're over stretching yourself?

and maybe 3/

3/ You're planning things without adding some warm-up time and down-time as time points itself added to the before and after activity (not for all activity but for some like warmup or warm-down to catchup notes, assume you'll need to make calls after session etc)? This would fill up a day much faster on paper too.

I can see these message start to stack up and get why naturally it's impossible to be up-to-date (and that's good it reflects we like you a lot) and at the same time might help to see your own balances if it's deliberately weighted towards X company first or for example a yearly mission across every part of working and hobby life to unite the two...

Or even just a way from Mastodon to something clear like a todo list (but that itself evolves and becomes too much to keep managing too sometimes)...

shrugs but anyway can say how you feel if not sure about all the above...
