@retromacuk The film reflected how we all kind of cried or were shocked by his death... but by someone we never knew at all and kind of went a bit far in some stuff (film didn't have great things always to say which might be considered normal for Tech Gods nowadays) but more positively I mean to say death is for sure death and that's shocking enough...

What people see is not the only thing they get (many people act like life is very clearly WYSIWYG which is too simplified to be the truth...

What you see is not what you get so it's not "if I don't see it or feel it probably it's nothing / who cares / why care short term or long?" and that way literally ends up to where we are and kind of gives up the responsibility to others who want to sell it for much more and abuse it parasitically until all things die (instead of growing people AND planet).

For people who care (and maybe those more machine-minded people / Techies) it's important to see the many sidedness of things, of people, subject matters. Because many feel left out. You might also feel like you found your home but you might be moving further away from people which always isn't great long-term.

It's not just this or that, or about "efficiency" which is often mentioned almost like a kind of perfection or Indiana Jones "Holy Grail" worth dying / letting people die for.
Because anyway in humanity imperfection is baked in. Better to use it instead of go heavy expecting tech to save things (and it already has so I suggest it simply has limits and you move on to human growth more often as the 'work' like a kind of social improvement / communication as normal therapy for the rest of things).
Do continue some of what you do but WITH more people please.

Many things have many attributes which mean many feelings and perspectives to the many who see it. And care for things quite valid either way. I'm not talking about silly things but really what people care about should be considered more of a priority in reasoning.

Then there is overall the general why, the aim or overall priority with extra things but it helps to see the basics first sometimes to decide if humans are to count in the world and have 'nicer' equations to run after more than being being cut out by binary 1 or 0 choices or narrowing comparisons unfairly just because of time or even feelings that people want to cut out.

People host many things that can seem a burden but labelled as value suddenly turns the equation into something more for everyone. It may have it's limits BUT less people in community = no community and people without community almost literally die (inside and out) so if we're all too much into Tech or 1-sided viewing of life like "job" and that's it for my responsibility then diversity can be better (in moderation but again it's definitely not just job in life or needs fighting back against those that want to steal our time and use us like batteries in mono-work)

Tech and science people seem to not understand this one-sidedness (based on my conversations) and tend to want to skip this caring (call it talking) and skip the priority of building people USING people themselves!

In that mini or macro society - we need better people - NOT same-same / shitty people with tech.

Allowing for more than one truth or way-of-life to be ok is very important and several variations simply act as perspective to pehaps aappier survival or natural suffering to life we must endure but could do more friendlier... to further more good stuff to happen too- instead of trying to pipe it in a narrow medium (like text) and expect 'efficiency' to feel ok.

We'll lose everything without others...

And text is ok by the way BUT WHEN you have lots of ways and people you let people interact with you so you or they don't lose the whole human touch which is why I mention being a bit stuck in the text comradeship - improving people or getting better as the fun / interaction practice (with what we love doing) is important...

I understand "no talking" type devs but society infatuated with that way and piping it through devices (and BigTech) while they and everyone else empties the eco-system, is no way of working (you will lose your machines AND ability with people and others losing their ability). It's like a super-power to keep the dust off to communicate and care and accept "imperfect humans".

Just out of mild interest (not to jump myself into a giant teletext rabbit hole) but where would one go for a website about Teletext... something a bit more personal to someone here I can interact with (rather than cold website)

It is quite interesting though I'm not sure how right now... Think ages ago saw something on YouTube but also anything personal or step by step enjoying it would be quite cool...

Ukrainians are Russian-ish ?... And so are many cultures just letting things slip by the minute avoiding all responsibility / personal conflict themselves... 

@synlogic It seems you deleted a post about Ukrainian's being similar to Russian's and a boycotting theme. About 1.5hours back from this post.

But I send reply now anyway as my own toot since it's gone as it had a good point not many might mention. So I'll take a few points and make it my own thread... (if you put the post back let me know and I'll add it there)

People are most measurably behind in the mind. And to say that Ukrainian's might be also, that can be hard for me to say, but apart from naturally being behind as humanity (or letting things slip in exchange for money, banks. gov etc) it's also that YES:

UKRAINIANS AND RUSSIAN MAY WELL BE SIMILAR AND THE SAME... (assimilated)

It's also a case of "one looks better that the other" in terms of oppressor and weaker person but on other terms there is a rolling history and "just another leader" timeline (like a boss in a company that suddenly comes in) and in this template anyone can come along and do similar things in the past (which quite all countries did or didn't know how to give power to it's people to conquer this major re-occurrence and only defended it's land to oppress the people... again)....

It's not easy either as anyone just coming into life has the previous rolling crap to deal with as a 'system' (way of cheating people or imposing an original idea ⬅️ many ways to see it but ultimately uncaring EVERYWHERE )

So like a leaning tree nobody want to straighten or hold up, it just keeps leaning towards the same things - so it's also made up of the same type of dynamics (largely people don't doing anything or not to the end to say it's unacceptable for any war or heavy extraction as cruelty and false freedoms- and with actually caring nothing can be built on top of that)

Ukrainians are Russian-ish... And so are many elsewhere - but you're right to point to language, habits, assimilating for so long next to each other...

Just people/humanity are very much behind and still letting things slip despite the lessons...

(and just for historical imagination without adding fire...)

Just imagine what might happen as examples and money / war orientated stuff...

example ➡️ ❓ Ukraine becomes a super power over time or instantly and then tries to take over Europe with all that money.

Powerless People - Complaining or Not Complaining + Staying polite during morally questionable changes? 

@danvolchek I think it comes from being powerless all round / all in all.

Almost like, "what else can they do?" ... I would actually ask you that too

(True we could hate less, but almost is like saying nothing while things get 'worse' is also not good and doesn't feel good meanwhile).

For me the answer is almost correcting things from the beginning of everything - almost everything (which is why people don't change or want to correct things because the same way they incremented on us to get here (for dependency, bad stuff etc) is the same way we have to increment out (by almost our own self if needs be and nobody else around to help figure it out).

I guess it's also reflective that 'Free' is still paying for things in some way so always at some point companies are going to do something not free or in line with it.... and that's a complaint about society too (I don't believe it has to be this way)/

For example, good things could be exempt from needing to pay so much taxes or 'already paid' in many ways after a certain time. Or just more people consider paying it forward until almost all of it is.

So... Being powerless - Complaining or Not Complaining / Staying polite during morally questionable things... not easy. And perhaps feelings of getting better?

And on the other side "You can't please everyone..." (which could be solved by allowing disabling / allowing opt-outs but of course that wouldn't be profitable as everyone would disable adverts and bad parts...

OK DID A FEW TESTS

I think it's some of the mp3's with album art that causes issues - also in Mastodon interface it was giving 422 error code (see pic) which might match why it doesn't work in your viewer also (though in Mastodon album art was working for a long time).

When I including my mp3s in the zip file it causes the problems in meowviewer.. Without mp3s no problem (MP4's in posts work and show)

If you want the backup export file I used to get problems I can also upload it for you to test.

BACK STORY WITH MASTODON

In Mastodon interface I remember getting 422 error code while trying to upload mp3's - nobody knew why and it was working for ages - so I think at some point intolerance or problems were introduced as it was working to show thumbnails the way I was adding them (and before we upgraded server as that only happened recently) and seems same things trigger the same in your viewer...

I remember customising my mp3's by adding/saving/EMBEDDING picture (album pic / cover art) in the mp3 file itself so Mastodon perhaps has issue to upload this or has problem displaying it.
I have attached below (422 error code).

mp3's cause the error - those with EMBEDDED thumbnails (inside the file) seem to cause the problem- or something similar (haven't done the fine testing)

@andrewrk Truth of the original statement seems to also suggest more things that might not be too clear at first because so little is said in detail.

For example, could mean:

1/ it's bad that corporations are able to use different people to carry a brand name and not die because of what bad they companies do and use people as replaceable units to keep their corporation going (a virtual entity).

It's not originally said in the short 1-liner but I'm sure many can see different branches of original feeling... that

2/ 1 individual can do bad things to others, but 1 company many can distribute and continue the bad like a vehicle with constantly changing drivers... (continuing same idea all the time or some changing the company even though name is the same)

I liked Marty Fouts response too here is also true that businesses often do die somewhat @MartyFouts

but generally the feeling might also be about corporations themselves being unfair or crappy in some ways like:

1/ corporate groups vs. citizen individuals
The structure IS the inequality and the leverage from governments allowing creation of virtual companies to exist (giving them special powers, benefits, bendable rules / paying fines only/mostly etc)

PEOPLE BUILDING FRIENDSHIP ? Seems people don't see the point!

Seriously, I think this is a real reflection of how people do things in real life right now, they just want to stick to job, buy food and the rest is too much / uncreative as any willpower -

Having AI or machine to chat to is not far off the destination ... some feel-good thing is what people want to replace (not with human by machine as we see in all levels of life). That is about right as the "Hi-Bye" attitude increases between people and then saying "oh isn't it terrible this happens or look at that they are doing (and what we are not doing).

It's "too much" to deal with or try saying people to try... try investing in building relationships. I understand it is wanting to be avoided (as closed doors act as defence also) but all is being lost and EXTERNALIZED by people that way. Community reduced and looking after people with it.

Like the other things in their life,
it's for someone else to do.

So not surprising and not only companies to blame. PEOPLE themselves (even on Fediverse) feed that very short-range circular don't-both-me (even if you're my fan) thing and aesthetic FROM their real life equivalent because they don't want it / they've lost the reasoning why... shelled up...
Contact pages on websites and then suspicion when you do contact them. Smiling faces, short-text as practice.

And as for Tech (in short, forgive me):
"People like their computers and devices more than people"

So more than me or you they rather program or have what doesn't talk back unless it's in a way they want..

No finding of reasons build with me (or help build me as a person) - lost the whole growing one's self thing - quite immature still and staying stagnant as the world encroaches on people like that.

Perhaps almost all people doing that "For The Way" is too much but it can solve almost anything for those that want to choose 'something else' more that devices and BigTech to fund / propel our lives.

Reality is we can do it because we already are (alone) and like a lot of stuff and even can tap into new randomly also. But that's too much like going to a new type gym and new as muscle set...

Regularly people choose nothing / I'm ok jack / why help you / me / 'the world' incrementally.

In my experience trying I can detail and say why but I'll try keep it short... (I probably said it all)

So long-story short, not many want to fix it or most anything ...
who wants to follow the ball of string to find why or grow people which we could have done anytime we chose but anyway nobody to talk to even about that LOL!

money and urgent-only people - not social 

It's that kind of money or urgent-only that is socially horrible for building anything -

I think I still try every day because it's the only real way humans are going to get out of every problem by practicing more than monetary transactions and crisis-only management (same thing predictably and even encouraging more of it) even when there is a a buttons a few steps to which switch the water off they keep bailing out only for more water to come it.

Just to slow down their processes for trouble-shooting to be allowed into the process circle is enough. It can also be a 'thinking outside the box' thing which state puts the perception of when most of it theory or low-level threats to train animals into things they can't do things...

better processes and circles of habits please 🔁 or just ask me if stuck...

That is what comes to mind as this whole things is missing the point of social which I feel is literally because of these things mostly:

1/ People don't see 'system' as doing effort themselves or it's used as a one size fits all thing to work for them.
It's not obvious or there is no 'protocol' to grow 'people' or socially - like how to relationships <--- this is the hard part for people, they might need an actual protocol to say "people use nicknames, it's ok, they are not 'spammers' by default, you can check their account, you can interact with them as 99% are a billion miles away etc!

2/ People are losing the skill to build relationships - 3 comments and it fizzles or even worse it's like your heckling or abusing them... people find negatives more than just to stick to the good - almost generations of well-trained TV watchers... they have no overall idea or quest... no offense but I have the experiences as my whole profile has been about finding people and people finding me but anyway I even listed the reasons before (such saying "I don't have time" but not willing as the reality / not able to test or try or see the point of... mostly people are either comfortable (even in a bad way not to come out of it despite saying), have fake/isolated quests, stick to job mostly (which is state regulated so never going to be rebellious) and almost subservient to whatever state "system" aggression / passive aggression) ... generally uncreative as social contact is concerned...

Anyway so maybe I think according to them or me people should accordingly do better but small circles going nowhere basically is not helping anything - mine or their hobbies or fan-club building.,,,

So without moaning ( or showing as reasons! ☑️ ) it's also a reflection of people in real life or not and what they already don't do AND don't do.
They don't know how to make friends or have passions to push them past the post - unless "system" to tell them like algorithms - it's almost like they need pressure to save the world:
like "talk more / give more love to 3 people or else you account gets frozen and you have to pay to unfreeze it".

It's that kind of money or urgent-only behaviour that people react to... horrible.

Even with websites people ask me why I contact them from their contact page, when I say I like xyz and their website even say "don't hesitate to contact me" - basically not do more past aesthetics and even going the distance more often with strangers to see what it is (usually just fans which almost people can't handle and do something better with). Such a shame...

So barring a "system" forcing or encouraging people (using ads or algo's) then I'm not sure how to re-train people....

As extra evidence and almost digging into the pattern I believe my life is proof of, it's much like the Christian's (or any religion) who just go once in a blue moon or even on Sunday's only and don't look past this as a way of life (which should be spreading "His Love" or not selling body / soul or whatever level they choose... it's like an empty label or description also for experts here (almost all I've contacted) who are one-way or just not spiraling / harnessing even like-minded people... Not sure what it is but being strong inside and willing to try almost everyone is part of it to get there even at a slow pace rather than almost running backwards bumping into things / scared of their own existence !

So a long post you see - Sorry if a bit longer than expected but things nothing done about don't work.

Often regularly what people don't understand and leave for others as problems get longer and worse and as layers are added to make it even more unclear or emotional for them (low acceptance of different people). Human advancement of (of any kind) even at 0.1% increments is hardly there)... !

My answer to all this is T-group / circle training to put some more of this back in - much like couple who pay people a high amount just to listen and say nothing - that's have far society of individuals are...

i am personally more in favor of a "social Web" than a "social network".

what i want to do is make it easier for anyone to make a website, and to manage that website.

i want those websites to be able to link to each other in well-defined and clearly-understood ways.

i want to make friends and express myself to the fullest, in varying contexts on various websites, without context collapse.

but it feels like #fediverse is more interested in replicating the "social network" paradigm.

Microsoft #Teams is actually pretty good as a team/channel/chat #collaborative tool..

Great... so long as you don't want to get anything *from* Teams to *outside* of Teams. Its like they intentionally went out of their way to lock everything IN, let nothing out. there is no export, no "save chat", no "send this chat to <list of apps>". You can #export a *single* msg to Outlook. That's it.

The only way that doesn't require a $tool or result in copy+paste or print2pdf hot garbage, is via Snip.

Hmm this is a good point, often it's only a "choice" only when allowed a choice (like both options are good for state gov's) otherwise you must do what empire says when it comes down to it with penalties and it's ever advancing rules like fencing animals to say 'this' is your options as a one-size fits way of 'system' and doing it's way with people as finely detailed as possible

(State's perspective is perhaps that it owns people when they are born into and when comes down to it for anything serious?).... that's scary !
