@trinsec I wonder what @EubieDrew to anger her!

Truthfully, a personal block is all I can think of.

@EubieDrew it doesn't work like that. And I never followed her before, I just tried because you were experiencing troubles. Hmmm, strange, I don't know.

@EubieDrew they blocking u? Haha. I'm sure that's a no. @gretathunberg @UB@mas.to

Traditional oven cooked, vs Smoked

Which would you choose? We have both.

@freemo

The only problem with this, as with all things, is human nature. Like people in all positions of power, they will not admit when wrong. This is especially true in a situation like this. He caved to the few, based off of lies. To reverse that mistake would be admitting he is wrong and would open other decisions made in the past and future up to more scrutiny. In his mind, consciously or subconsciously, it would be better to ignore this. With this mentality its always easy to take action on an issue, but reversing the action nearly never happens.

Politicians, CEOs, and other people in power will make decisions to fix a problem, real or not, but when is the last time you have ever seen a person in this type of position REVERSE a decision. Almost never. I say almost because there might be an occasion I don't know about, but I can't think of any.

Reversing his action won't happen, because its an admission he made the wrong choice, and that takes courage.

As always, my opinion doesn't mean shit, and I hope I'm wrong.

@Gargron

@marathon0 when coal miners were losing their jobs, mainly in WV a few years ago, it was being discussed on the news a lot. The left wing media was suggesting (mirrored by other left wing news) that the coal miners would just need to adapt, and Learn to Code. A little ridiculous, for the type of job and experience they were coming from, but they kept saying it. Then, a bit later, some journalists were losing their job, and the right wing were Tweeting them with the hastag . This got trending, and Twitter a believe banned/suppressed the hashtag and was banning people who said it to the journalists, saying it was "harassment". After seeing the twitter engineers losing their job, the first thing I thought of was well, they have to adapt, the can . Obviously a ridiculous statement, but the same thing people were saying to the coal miners.

Sorry, probably not many people would get that I guess. My bad.

For fellow arrivals, @freemo (the amazing Qoto.org admin) shared a Domain Blocking List.

If you import this comma-separated values (CSV) file into your Mastodon account via the Preferences, that can help keep spammers and bad actors out of your timelines/feeds. I know some folks have complained about it.

Here's the Domains Blocked file in Google Sheets. You can go to File ->Download->CSV to get a copy of the domains blocked list.

Then, once you have it saved, import it via your Preferences -> Import->Domain Blocking List as shown in the screenshot.

In the USA, those of us who understand and can calculate fractions only have another 24 hours or so of halving and doubling recipe ingredients for those who refuse to use the metric system because “it’s too hard.”

@sturgman Tusky, FediLab if you want a ton more features.

Anyone's kids ever get a tonsillectomy?

I know it's normal after the procedure, but wherever he walks to it smells like a used diaper covered in burnt hair....

My wife got out the holiday decorations the other day. She moved one into my peripheral, and I kept feeling like I was being watched.

@trinsec Ahhhhh. This makes sense.

Every year before my kids come down, I go into the kitchen and chop/shred/destroy carrots and celery, leaving the kitchen floor a mess. Those reindeer are always so hungry. I continued it, because my whole life growing up that's what I came down to on Christmas morning.
