@admitsWrongIfProven how can ukraine which is a peaceful country boycott peace talks when it’s being invaded with the overt goal of genocide by criminals in the kremlin and their army using rape as a weapon of war? There’s a striking lack of basic human decency when you blame Ukrainian (the target of the invasion) in order to justify their genocide and that’s not a good look
@Renshaw01 well you know better than I , but systematic review has a lot of components , and I’m not sure the AI is really comensurate with many of these activities… some ideas (perhaps?): 1) using AI to “autocomplete”/ propose search terms and variations …. 2) clean up the dataset of retained or scrapped papers 3) generate / expand the straightforward analyses of the data

I tagged below everyone who asked me to tag them. I have now started a gitlab group and project where we can discuss the #UFoI proposal transparently and with a good recorded history.
Please start discussions by creating issues, and any edits you have to the proposal please edit on gitlab and submit as a merge request, which can then be discussed.
I will write the CI code to make sure the document gets compiled.
I will try to leave the mass-message like here just to the major developments as it feels a bit spammy. I will only send out one more notification once the by laws draft is up. Of course if anyone does not want to get notified let me know and ill leave you off from future discussions.

Ok so this seems to be most of the people who publicly stated they had interest in developing the "United Federation of Instances". All of you should have gotten the first draft and opinions were heard and discussed.
Today I will be moving the first draft over to git (either git.qoto.org or gitlab.com). From there I will encourage each of you to provide suggestions as to edits there, and raise discussions in issues. This way we will be public and have an open transparent forum that keeps the changes on record.
While public feedback is being debated on the proposal I will begin a rough draft on the complete by laws (which will try to represent the broader points in the proposal document). That too will be on gitlab and open to discussion
From there as the movement grows we can begin discussing launching it.
I suggest all communication on the fediverse about this use the #UFI hashtag so it is easily searchable.
Since this is a public post I will now share the link to the early draft here, please keep in mind everything here is open for discussion so if anyone doesnt like the current direction, please speak up, we want you to be heard.

@Mill_lab Most of the 100+ people that have contributed neuron reconstructions to the #Drosophila larval central nervous system I've trained myself; graduate students, professors, postdocs, technicians: makes me proud.
All thanks to the #HHMIJanelia Visiting Scientist Program. If other institutions knew how effective, and how comparatively inexpensive given the outcomes, such a program is, they would implement one tomorrow. Biggest bang for the buck imaginable.

Thanks, agreed. I think helping first hand, interacting, talking, caring about someone, goes a lot farther than just donating. Not to dispparage donating, if your donating your doing good and should be proud. Just saying people need more than just tthe money, they need someone who cares, personally.
@tonic this war in particular really helps to uncover those that openly and gleefully promote the genocide of people also in my country here in France …. The good news is there will inescapably be consequences for that .
