Zuckerberg wants Facebook to become online 'metaverse'

I feel it is important to share this, as it highlights where things could be going with Facebook
How can we counter some of this
@freemo i want notifications. Just not that noise.
@freemo I get lots of notifications -- Twitter, Slack. But their noises are discreet, while my Mastodon ones are loud!

Fantastic! 4Clojure was a great tool for years, until its owner passed away. This is a great looking port that I can't wait to try. #clojure https://github.com/PEZ/rich4clojure
@CySpy Welcome!
@khird I like to use my mobile Firefox as my client. Any thing here on actual sites?
@yogthos@mastodon.social "the bitter lesson is that the actual contents of minds are tremendously, irredeemably complex; we should stop trying to find simple ways to think about the contents of minds, such as simple ways to think about space, objects, multiple agents, or symmetries. All these are part of the arbitrary, intrinsically-complex, outside world. They are not what should be built in, as their complexity is endless; instead we should build in only the meta-methods that can find and capture this arbitrary complexity. "
I have some history with expert systems. The "feels good"is true; I want them to work. But data orientation seems to be winning.
@lucifargundam absolutely. I'm also a big believer in the power of complementary pursuits to have symbiotic benefits.
