@freemo @LouisIngenthron @admitsWrongIfProven You would be creating wealth, job security, infrastructure and capital to reinvest in the community. I don't see the problem with people dying as those people are removed from the community and can no longer be role models. The problem is government funding shadow wars with the proceeds and ruining lives with a system they set up.

It reminds me of a song.

@freemo @TruthSandwich I vote for Incumbents if I know them and they are at least somewhat good at their job.

@TruthSandwich @freemo That Electoral College must be difficult, I never hear about anyone I know getting in.

What name do you like best for a non-profit community for Ham Radio? Think Apache incubator but for Ham plus other open-source services and resources for the community.

FYI I have both the dot com and dot org as well as the hyphenated and non hyphenated versions of the below. Please mention which variant you prefer in comments.

@freemo Also old people: Dexedrine was amazing when you had a few beers and had to drive 12 hours after a long day of work. The 1911 is still a good weapon and I remember walking into general stores where they had a barrel of M1 rifles for 30 dollars each. That Dexedrine was good stuff.

@freemo @aschatermees @BenAveling @ErikUden @Elleaster Firearms are a right. Japan's Emperor or whatever got hit with plumbing supplies.

They don't have to be a right to exist. We need more real firearms as the AR-15 and AKM available to the public tarnish the brilliance of their designers.

Perhaps President Biden was right about needing F-15s and nuclear weapons. It looked like he gave a secret sign when saying that.

So apparently I just realized when i first started as a ham over a decade ago I participated in an E-M-E contact (Earth-Moon-Earth). I had no idea what it was at the time but i see in my notes it just says "EME net?" and now as a more expiernced ham i literally know I was talking with someone by bouncing our signals off the moon..... soooo cool.

@freemo Even our first President immediately went back on his word and started The Whiskey Rebellion. It takes a bad person to be a good president.

@AmpBenzScientist I looked into desantis, I think he might even be worse than trump if thats possible...

@thor I cant speak to your language. But as someone who is particularly aweful at learning new languages I can say of all the languages I ever attempted the non-dead language I found the easiest would be German.

That said of all languages I am best at latin, and even that not anywhere near great... I think it being a deadlanguage no one is alive to correct my bad pronunciation either :)

@mjambon @freemo SI can actually be used to measure Weight instead of Mass.

@freemo I'm French and live in the US. I've been sticking to SI units for almost the 20 years that I've been here. I know what's good and won't let it go.

@freemo @LouisIngenthron @admitsWrongIfProven A fully legalized drug trade would generate wealth and improve the standard of living, even for those with problems.

When compared to Smart Device manufacturers and their corruption of government. A legal drug trade is morally superior.

@LouisIngenthron

Cheese burgers and houses **are** wealth... Based on your wording you are confusing "wealth" (things that have utility and value) and money..

If you have profit alone, then you just are moving money around.. you arent generating wealth (or money)... in order to generate wealth you must increase the overall number of things in society with utility... So yes what i said already was in line with what your saying, you just are using wealth in the way of "collecting wealth" which is not the same as "generating wealth".

> The people who actually create those things should be the wealthy in a just society, not the people who were born to it.

Agreed, like the people who sacraficed decades to create the idea, get funding, investing in the building, getting the money to pay people to do the labour, etc... yes the owners who risk everything and actually create the wealth are the people who should be wealthy.
