No joke. I just wanted more choices.

I didn't read their TOS, so I can't say. Maybe the poster didn't read it either.

I think some people CW every toot either because they are protesting the concept of CW's or are just not sure what should be warned, or maybe they want to prompt people to turn off CW in their account settings.
Here's an article about the forces on a sail.
This is an interesting thesis. I think fear interferes with thinking generally, but sometimes stress can be the “mother of invention”.
Creativity is all about change – making something new or finding a new way to do something. Conservatives, by definition, don’t want change, they want things to stay the same. So I’m not sure about the assertion that conservatives want people to be creative. Conservatism tends to emerge more when there is more change going on. They feel it threatens their “way of life”.
Yes, economic systems in free countries work on the assumption that competition will drive people to be more creative so as to become more competitive, but ironically, when new ideas come forth the incumbents often feel threatened and become reactionary.
This is called "number agreement", making sure the subject and verb agree in number (plural or singular).
Normally, a verb for a singular subject (e.g., "Mary") includes the “s”. (Mary runs.), and plural subjects take a verb without the “s”. (Jack and Jill run.)
For some reason the pronoun “you” is treated as a plural, so it’s verb doesn’t have the “s”. (You run.)
Maybe there is someone out there who knows why “you” is treated as plural all the time even when the subject it refers to may actually be singular.

My irony alarm just went off. Isn’t suppression of opposing views one of the defining characteristics of fascism?
My understanding of qoto is that it is an inclusive instance. They follow the moderation guidelines for being listed in Mastodon’s directory of sites and allow everyone else. Those guidelines say, “...Active moderation against racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia...”
Nothing in there about censoring fascists.
Qoto is inclusive. They even let me in here.

We began using fire about 1.7 million years ago…

Some people still use fire to power their putt-putt cars.

Everybody else drives an electric car.

(Actually, Fred Flintstone’s car used the flywheel effect to run his car. The energy came from brontosaurus burgers. Primitive.)
Fair use image.
Still trying to stur up disent in the West, trying to us against each other?

How many people at the White House Correspondents' Dinner superspreader event will become infected with COVID-19?

Get well soon.
Also, make sure everyone wears a #respirator and not just a cloth mask because the virus is airborne now and the cloth masks don't work so well.

>"And last I checked, dinosaurs didn't use fire!"
I know of no evidence that any dinosaurs used fire, however, it's not out of the realm of possibility. It is believed that some dinosuars were relatively intelligent and some had hands or feet that could grasp things, so it's possible that there was some dinosuar that could grab a burning stick leftover from a wildfire and move it somewhere else more convenient to them, which would techinically be "using fire".

We split off from the chimpanzees about seven million years ago. There is evidence that we began to use fire at least 1.7 million years ago.
So even though we weren't technically "human", we were using energy. (I should have used the term "hominidae" instead of "humans" in my previous toot.
I'm just a geek.
Pronouns: She/Him/Her/His
(Use "she" for the subjective case, "him" for the objective case, "her" for the active possessive case, and "his" for the passive possessive case. Note: This is to avoid non-PC objectification and passivity.)

If I favorite your toot, it doesn't mean that I feel your toot is my favorite toot. It means that I'm letting you know that I saw your toot, probably read it, and maybe even liked it (but not necessarily).
