Moderation complication, nazis
@peterdrake @freemo @Gargron @trinsec @khird It's hardly an attack if they just have rainbow sparkles on their brown shirts to go with their Nazi spread of hate and misinformation... and then get called out for it. They are not "antifa" using fascist tactics against any who takes "diversity" seriously.
I do what @mikmaqpeek asks of me to the best I can for her sake, wearing a mask as best as I am able where it is reasonable to do so.
Baring that, I go with what is in my comfort zone, which is usually in public, enclosed spaces. At work, I overheat, and my relative risk is low, so I don't if it impacts my ability to perform.
Beyond all that, if I'm made to feel I'm wrong no matter what I do, I'll damn well do as I please. Don't make me feel wrong no matter what I do. Nobody will be happy.

The blogosphere which was absorbed by twitter for $0 was eventually turned into a Nazi frat party for Elon. That was the end result, that and billions for Ev, Jack, Biz, Union Square and Spark, and we’re back where we were when they took over. 16 years wasted.
@bitpirate Eugene could have discussed this in a private forum but with the decision made public based on public policy, spreading light and clarity in the process. Eugene elected not to do that and resorted to skulldugery instead. There was a point made, it had nothing to do with new users beyond being part of the toolset to punish @freemo. His actions appear pretty clear on the point to be taken from this. If there's another point, he could still bring transparency and clarity to the process used.
@joaopinheiro @freemo If one must engage in the tactics of lies and deceit, if one conspires in the dark policy that should be public, transparent, and clear, if one promotes the spread of hate over love of facts and truth, one has become the monster. That isn't "Anti-Fascist," it's "Sparkling Rainbow Nazi." They can own it.
@arh@mstdn.io @freemo If Mastodon as a project is going to be built on lies, deception, and hate, the reality of those choices will "occur" and reality doesn't much give a damn about our feelings or respect our assumptions of control over it. Reality just "happens."
And hoping to use lies and deception to strangle an instance into quiet death and submission isn't very realistic.
If that hurts the Mastodon project as a whole, so be it. There were other honest, clear, and open paths to take. Those paths were not chosen. So be it.

In 2021, I started teaching myself #Java Programming for #Minecraft plugins using YouTube videos and whatever answers/explanations to things I could find in Google.
In 2022, I rewrote two of my server's core plugins entirely, making them better, more efficient, and have extra features.
My goal for 2023 is to create a brand new minigame plugin from scratch that will work just the way I want it to and give the players years of fun.
Before starting my server in 2013, I was a web developer working with PHP, which kinda prepared me but also really didn't prepare me. So having gotten this far without a teacher is something I'm really proud of and I hope to continue making progress in an effort to make my server even better.
I'm sharing my goal publicly because as they say... that adds accountability. Now I have to see it through or everyone will ask me about. lol
So... do you happen to have any good resources for learning Java at home?

@ombremad No worries - I'm perfectly fine to agree to disagree :) I consider this exchange to be a perfect example of what I was pointing out in the original thread.
I'm what others call a feminist, an LGBTQ-ally, don't consider free speech to mean anyone has to listen to it etc. Yet you ended up implying I was the opposite of all that just because my opinions here bothered you.

Instances can get defederated by other instances for the following reasons:
1) Not moderating "well enough"
2) Peering with other instances that aren't moderated "well enough"
3) Hosting accounts of a type others don't want to have in their federation
... and no two instances are in complete agreement what's covered in 1, 2 or 3.
Now let's be clear - I don't consider anything here to be wrong. I'm pondering the wider effects.
