I turn to her, "You know, there are alternatives." I make as if to grab my nostrils, yank, and start flapping them to "open" my nose. She gives me a disgusted look and turns back to her yarn show on YT.

She still allows me to amuse myself. :)

@freemo Ugh... one of my friends reports the link doesn't work. I recall seeing DNS was acting squirrely, but I lost the message and it's likely buried under the churn on this thread. I can try to get more info if that would be useful. A link to where this problem has happened to someone else would let me continue the conversation *there* where it may be useful to someone else. The link works for me just fine out in the PNW area.

@rbe_expert @modrobert @Gargron @trinsec @khird I used the "official lookup" stuff. I found qoto.org on "official." Had I been a few days later, I would not have been on qoto.org, and either not aware of any of this, or found myself kicked as others have been for questioning the "official party line."

Then I'd have to blame @freemo for getting me kicked and ask him to let me join. I'm happy to have saved a step and the annoyance. I really... REALLY hate skulldugery, and I can't seem to shut up about it, ever.

I do what @mikmaqpeek asks of me to the best I can for her sake, wearing a mask as best as I am able where it is reasonable to do so.

Baring that, I go with what is in my comfort zone, which is usually in public, enclosed spaces. At work, I overheat, and my relative risk is low, so I don't if it impacts my ability to perform.

Beyond all that, if I'm made to feel I'm wrong no matter what I do, I'll damn well do as I please. Don't make me feel wrong no matter what I do. Nobody will be happy.

@bitpirate Eugene could have discussed this in a private forum but with the decision made public based on public policy, spreading light and clarity in the process. Eugene elected not to do that and resorted to skulldugery instead. There was a point made, it had nothing to do with new users beyond being part of the toolset to punish @freemo. His actions appear pretty clear on the point to be taken from this. If there's another point, he could still bring transparency and clarity to the process used.
